Stay Obedient to Prokes when Traveling during Holidays

113

The public is asked to always obey Prokes when traveling during the Lebaran holiday season. Discipline is still needed to prevent a spike in Covid-19 after Eid al-Fitr as happened in previous periods.

Muslims in Indonesia have celebrated Eid al-Fitr 1443 H, even during the Covid-19 pandemic. This Eid celebration is quite lively because the government allows people to return to their hometowns after 2 years of Eid at home, so it is certain that this year’s atmosphere will be more festive. After going home and staying in touch, people usually spend the next vacation period to travel.

However, even though they are allowed to go home and tourist attractions have been opened, the public should not be careless because they must still obey the health protocols (Prokes). Remember that this is still a pandemic period so you must obey the protocol if you don’t want to get Corona. After all, for 2 years we have been used to implementing health protocols so that they are applied every day.

The Deputy Regent of Temanggung Heri Ibnu Wibowo warned the public to remain careful and obey health protocols when doing activities in public spaces, including at tourist attractions. Because, it is still vulnerable to Corona transmission. Even when leaving the house, people have to make sure they are really healthy.

In a sense, health and Prokes must be maintained. Don’t force yourself to travel when you’re still tired after going home, because if your body drops, it’s easier to get Corona because your immunity goes down. Moreover, if you are desperate to return home in a state not yet vaccinated and are lazy to wear a mask, it will be more dangerous because you can get the Omicron variant of Corona.

In addition, another point in the health protocol that must be maintained is washing hands or using hand sanitizer. Don’t underestimate hand washing because it can maintain body hygiene, because we sometimes carelessly hold any object at the tourist spot, which can obviously carry bacteria and viruses. The place manager is also required to provide hand washing containers with running water and antiseptic soap.

Health protocols in tourist attractions must be maintained, especially social distancing. Make sure the visitor capacity is a maximum of 50% and the tour business owner must comply. Do not for the sake of pursuing profit instead sell all tickets and as a result the place is filled with visitors. When there is a crowd, it is dangerous because it can lead to the formation of a new Corona cluster and must be closed for 14 days, it will be a big loss.

The community is also obliged to take care of Prokes when in tourist attractions. If you’re afraid of crowds, just come when the place just opens. For hygiene, bring your own food and drink. If you are not allowed to bring food at the place, then after leaving there, eat lunch in a park or open area so that the air circulation is more free.

When you get home, wash your hands quickly, then take a shower, wash your hair, and change clothes. Maintaining body hygiene is very important because we don’t know who among the visitors to tourist attractions has the status of asymptomatic people (OTG). They can transmit the Delta or Omicron variant of Corona. So, minimize the possibility of Corona transmission by immediately cleaning yourself.

People need to obey Prokes when traveling because the transmission of Covid-19 is still happening. Avoid euphoria in the midst of easing Prokes and always follow the Government’s advice so that post-Idul Fitri Corona cases can be suppressed and the economic recovery can continue.
