Social Assistance Distributed Accurately Through National DTKS Data Updates

Jakarta – The government is ensuring that social assistance (bansos) distribution is more targeted by utilizing the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN) as the primary reference. This policy will be fully implemented in the distribution of social assistance in June–July 2025 as part of the Rp24.44 trillion economic stimulus package.

The DTSEN is the result of an integration of three main databases: the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), the Socioeconomic Registration (Regsosek), and the P3KE. The data has been re-verified by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to ensure the legitimacy and eligibility of beneficiaries.

The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, explained that data verification is ongoing to ensure more accurate distribution.

“As many as 16.5 million have been verified, and around 14.3 million of them are in deciles 1 to 4, which are the top priority for social assistance recipients,” Amalia said.

Ministry of Social Affairs data shows that as of the first week of July 2025, the Family Hope Program (PKH) had reached 80 percent disbursement, while Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) had reached 84.7 percent of the total target of 18.3 million beneficiary families (KPM). The total disbursed budget is IDR 11.93 trillion.

This achievement has received praise from economic observers. INDEF economist Esther Sri Astuti believes the new system has increased the efficiency of social assistance distribution.

“Distribution reaching over 80 percent in the first week of the current month is commendable. This demonstrates improvements in administration and data,” Sri said.

Distribution is being carried out through two main channels: Himbara banks and PT Pos Indonesia. The government is also completing the transition from collective accounts to individual accounts to avoid duplicate payments. Furthermore, social assistance programs such as Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) and food assistance for the elderly and people with disabilities have been disbursed in Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Papua.

Efforts to digitize the aid system are also being strengthened. The government is developing a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to expedite data updates and the distribution of social assistance.

With the use of integrated data and the support of digital technology, the government is optimistic that the future social assistance distribution system will be more transparent, efficient, and targeted. Data updates through the DTKS (Direct Data Collection and Transfer) not only improve the accuracy of beneficiary identification but also strengthen the foundation of fairer and more sustainable social protection for the poor and vulnerable throughout Indonesia.
