ASN Must be Free from Radical Doctrine
By: Awaludin)*
Every Indonesian citizen must not be involved in radicalism, including the State Civil Apparatus (ASN). They are state servants, therefore they should not be traitors to the state by becoming cadres of radicalism.
Becoming a civil servant is a dream for most Indonesian citizens because the salary and benefits are relatively high, while later when you retire, you will be calm because you still get money. Therefore, the CPNS (Civil Servant Candidate) test is always crowded with applicants.
When you have been accepted as a State Civil Apparatus (ASN), there are a series of binding regulations. It is very natural because not everyone can become an ASN and indeed they have a high responsibility. The existing rules range from working hours, discipline, to a prohibition on involvement with radicalism.
Why radicalism? The reason is because this understanding is forbidden in Indonesia and as a state employee, an ASN should not be pro with groups that are against Indonesia.
The Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Tjahjo Kumolo stated that a State Civil Apparatus must stay away from radicalism and terrorism. Especially in high-ranking officials. Even though they already have the criteria, if they are found to be related to radicalism, they cannot be selected. In fact, it will be severely reprimanded.
Minister Tjahjo continued, to find out whether an ASN is involved in radicalism and terrorism, it is very easy because there are digital traces. For anti-radicalism regulations for an ASN on social media, it also applies to the wife or husband of the ASN.
In a sense, a civil servant must indeed keep his conversations in cyberspace and should not be careless or caught involved in radicalism, because he will receive a strong reprimand from his superiors. Even if it is severe, he could be threatened with dismissal, because a civil servant cannot be a traitor to the state by becoming a member of radical and terrorist groups.
Why are partners from ASN also exposed to anti-radicalism regulations? The reason is due to ethical issues, and of course many people who know that he is the wife or husband of an ASN, will be very tarnished when caught involved in radicalism. If he always boasts and even boasts of jihad, it could be that his partner is also poisoned by radicalism and terrorism.
When a wife is involved in radicalism while the husband is an ASN and he does not know it, then he is considered unable to educate his wife. It is a fatal mistake because radicalism and terrorism are forbidden. Therefore, as a couple, it is obligatory to monitor their partner’s social media, not being possessive but to prevent vices such as radicalism.
ASN must be free from radicalism because it is very dangerous if he is involved in it. It could be that he uses his position and position to foster radicalism and terrorism in Indonesia. Or, he contributes his salary to radicalism activities and even resorts to corruption in order to get a lot of money to support radicalism.
An ASN involved in radicalism will receive several types of punishment, ranging from a severe reprimand to dismissal. Indeed, the punishment is harsh because an ASN is paid by the state so that he cannot become a cadre of radicalism and terrorism that is hostile to the state.
The state civil apparatus is a servant of the state and must be loyal to the state. They must not be traitors to the state by engaging in radicalism and terrorism. Searches for radical ASNs and terrorists are also carried out on social media and they cannot be barbaric and arbitrary, even severe enough to insult their own country, because they will receive a strong reprimand from the head of the service.
