Demo 212 Reaping Rejection

The plan of the Islamic Defenders Front and Alumni Brotherhood (PA) 212 to hold a demonstration on February 21, 2020 was met with resistance . The reason is that mass organizations that often use religious issues are considered to have not received official permission related to the extension of their organizations. In addition, the action is also considered to create congestion so that it disrupts the mobility of people who have important needs.

FPI’s plan to push corruption law enforcement cases into action 212 seems futile. Instead of the public trust that was present, it was actually a flood of questions. Because the Islamic mass organization reportedly has not renewed the SKT because of a problem.

In the notice, the 212 action degree plan written will be held February 21, 2020 at 13.30 WIB or after Friday prayers. Including the appeal for prayers in the mosque around the Horse Statue and also the State Palace of Jakarta.

Previously the related action plans would be centered in front of the DPR / MPR RI Building. But it seems to have changed. According to the General Secretary of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Munarman revealed his plan with the Alumni Brotherhood or PA 212 to hold demonstrations precisely at the Horse Statue and the State Palace. He even claimed that all preparations were done.

In his confirmation, Munarman said the demands of FPI, PA 212, along with the GNPF Ulama, as announced in the previous e-mail were the capture and imprisonment of corruptors who involved the authorities. They demanded that the two corruption cases that were currently being warmed be revealed at this time. Which cover; the Jiwasraya case and the alleged bribery of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) candidate Harun Masiku along with the former Commissioner of the Election Commission Wahyu Setiawan.

Even though the preparations were complete and mature, Munarman was still reluctant to explain how many people had taken to the streets in the action against the corruption. However, he promised to mention technical details related to the demands and other matters in a press conference that will be held ahead of the demonstration.

FPI, GNPF Ulama, and PA 212 argued that in advance they had announced that they would hold a demonstration, this follows that there were still many corruption cases that were considered neglected. The three parties reportedly demanded more serious handling of corruption cases that are rife in the archipelago.

In fact, Munarman has also said that he would ask for clarity from the head of the KPK Firli Bahuri, to what extent the corruption case which had caused losses to the state so that trillions of rupiahs would be investigated. Not only that, they also highlighted other cases that ensnared Honggo as Director of PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) which resulted in state losses of up to Rp 35 trillion, the case of PT Jiwasraya with a total loss of Rp 13 trillion, along with the case of PT Asabri with a loss of Rp 10 trillion .

Nevertheless, the KPK denies that their performance is at the request of certain parties. KPK emphasized that they would work professionally according to the applicable regulations. So FPI was asked not to geerise.

It is no secret that corruption cases in this country are difficult to overcome. Considering this case is like involving one party to another. So that the handling does require extra effort, especially the KPK is now in the midst of cleaning up. No doubt a lot of adjustments related to their performance. However, that does not mean they are relaxed. The proof is that many cases of stagnation have begun to be addressed and acted upon. The government failed to surrender, including removing the ranks of those who got caught in the case and replacing them with new ones, who were more competent and loyal to the state. Mainly helping eradicate the case of rasuah in the country.

Responding to the 212 reunion which carried the hashtag to eradicate corruption, personally it was only an excuse. This of course can be connected with the momentum of the elections for example, could it be? The reason is, these organizations always appear to enliven the stage of the politicians they carry. However, they had to swallow the bitter pill when the candidate ran aground while strolling towards the government seat some time ago.

Not FPI and his name, in the past when defending FPI officials whose visas had expired, they were willing to oppose the state, although in the end they cried asking the government to help return the beloved habib. Moreover, corruption cases that incidentally have existed since the first. Surely this is easy for them to “pretend to care” for the sake of launching the desired interests. Then why don’t they become politicians? And the answer is “Anti”, they are Islamic organizations, the slogans they carry are Islamic, although they are still looking for candidates to be accompanied!
