The government continues to extend the application of level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in a number of regions in Indonesia. Policies that turns proved capable of lowering the number of cases Covid-19 .
President Joko Widodo, through the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment ( Menko Marves ) , Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, has again extended the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level 4 until August 16 , 2021 . The strict policy was again extended to maintain the positive trend of decreasing Covid-19 cases in implementation PPKM previous period .
The government’s decision to maintain the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) based on levels 2, 3, and 4 in a number of Java and Bali regions from 10 to 16 August 2021 is considered to be appropriate .
The extension of PPKM Level 4 for the Java- Bali region is regulated in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs ( Inmendagri ) Number 30 of 2021 concerning PPKM Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2, Covid-19 in the Java and Bali Region . The Minister of Home Affairs will take effect from August 10 , 2021 until August 16 , 2021.
In one week last application PPKM Level 4 recorded patients recover increases 226 656 people, far more many than cases daily which increased 199 220 cases . While the case is active experienced a decline in the numbers 448 508 people.
President Jokowi delivered , extension PPKM Level 4 should be done because still the fluctuations in patients Covid-19 so that it takes cooperation from various parties , including the communities to jointly tackle the spread of the virus Corona.
One of the key success of the implementation of PPKM Level 4 in the area of Java, Bali is a discipline society in implementing the protocol of health , including the cooperation of a group of businessmen to reduce the activity of the business including the activities of the trade that triggered the emergence of the crowd .
A number of parties expressed their support that PPKM is one of the Government’s policies that are considered effective in suppressing the spread of Covid-19 cases . Expert Epidemiology of the Faculty of Public Health University of Indonesia (FKM UI) Iwan Ariawan said , PPKM will continue to take place , but the level of its application will be adapted to the conditions in each region.
Director of the Executive Institute of Research and Consultation Health Development (LK2PK) dr ardiansyah Bahar assess PPKM can still be implemented but must adjust the development of the case is active in the community when this , occupancy home sick (BOR / bed occupancy rate) as well as the achievements of vaccination in the community to be able determine the fate PPKM . During the period of extension PPKM Level 4 which applies of 10-16 August 2021, the government also will do a test try implementing protocols health at the center of the shopping or the mall. Test try implementation of the protocol of health that will be implemented in the Province of Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang and Surabaya.
Activity on the central shopping / mall / center trade allowed to operate 25 percent at at 10.00 am to 20.00 pm with the protocol of health are regulated by the Ministry of Commerce Population by age in the under 12 years and above 70 years are prohibited from entering the center of the shopping / mall / center trade Theaters , where playing children , and places of entertainment in the central shopping / mall / center trade is closed .
Implementation of the new in PPKM the need to be applied so that the handling Covid-19 can be effectively carried out , but in time the same activities of the economy of society can continue to run . Activities economy should receive attention in addition to handling Covid-19 because of things that represent the interests of the public area .
Model new implementation of PPKM also shows that the government pay attention to various kinds of aspects in making policy handling of the pandemic Covid-19. The decline in the case of positive and BOR home sick need to be kept pressed so that the facility ‘s health did not experience the collapse . But in time the same government needs to ensure the activity of the economy remain running so that people can live activity productive in future Pandemic Covid-19.
