The Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (KAMI) has received sharp attention from the public. His declaration made in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic is considered disproportionate and only wants to increase the burden on the people affected by Covid-19.

The existence of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia “KAMI” apparently did not get maximum public attention, their existence was actually rejected by a group on behalf of the Indonesian Millennial Action Unit (KAMI) who expressed their rejection of the Declaration made.

In their action, they expressed rejection of the declaration because according to them, the US declaration was only to provoke the people and divide the nation to hate the government.

They also considered that the declaration activities tended to ignore physical distancing as a form of government efforts to break the chain of spreading Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Deputy VII Intelligence Agency (BIN) Wawan Hari Purwanto stated that as a citizen, he should defend his homeland with all his soul and body. Therefore, all kinds of threats that could endanger the unity and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia must be anticipated by anyone regardless of their profession.

The safety of the Indonesian people and all potential natural resources contained in it is absolutely necessary to be protected. Because it is our duty to protect all bloodshed, we must realize that all threats need to be anticipated so that we can be free from threats, whether they come from within or outside the country.

Wawan also responded to the emergence of KAMI, in the eyes of BIN, the real threat and what is currently considered serious is the Covid-19 pandemic, not anything else. Therefore, all parties must work together to maintain their respective safety so that collectively can save Indonesia from the bad effects of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Indonesian legal expert Muhammad Kapitra Ampera, considered that the formation of KAMI was full of political interests. The demands and also the actions he will carry out are also considered unclear because currently Indonesia is quite good in government. He also saw that the economy that collapsed due to the Covid-19 pandemic was still better than other countries.

Political activist Ferdinand Hutahaean also criticized the steps of several people who are members of the KAMI who held a declaration at the proclamation monument. According to him, the movement did not represent the voice of the people.

He said the movement carried out by KAMI was only a voice movement which would not become a real movement on the ground, let alone a people’s movement.

The opinion expressed by Ferdinand is certainly not without reason. Because our movement did not come from people’s unrest. Then the figures who are members of the coalition do not get the trust of the public, because of that the KAMI movement is judged not to represent the voice of the people.

In addition, he considered that the declaration was only a repetition of similar movements that had already been held before.

Such as the movement to return Indonesia to the original 1945 Constitution. However, this movement led to legal problems.

Political communication observer Ari Junaedi questioned what Rocky Gerung Cs was doing in his declaration. He questioned what the urgent urgency is for the implementation of the KAMI declaration with the condition of the nation which is fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. He considered that it would be better if the energy of the KAMI declarators was used for real humanitarian action.

This teaching staff at the University of Indonesia (UI) is worried that KAMI will only end up fulfilling the aspirations of a group of people who are disappointed in Joko Widodo’s government.

Director of the Indonesian Voters Institute (LPI) Boni Hargens considered that a number of US supporting figures came from ideological groups who in the 2017 Pilkada or the 2019 Election played identity politics.

The winner of a doctorate in philosophy from Walden University, Minneapolis, United States emphasized that if KAMI are also involved in amplifying identity politics, this movement has the potential to become a threat to the resilience of Pancasila ideology and democracy.

According to Boni, the coalition could also be a problem in itself if it turned out to be involved in the 2020 Pilkada campaign. Where anti-government propaganda will continue to be the dominant political narrative both at the local and national levels.

Boni also believes that what KAMI did at Tugu Proklamasi, was nothing more than street opposition. Like the issues that are raised which are old issues and nothing new.

The existence of KAMI is apparently still questionable and has not been accepted by many people, let alone the purpose of the declaration that was made last August 18, it is not clear what the urgency is.
