Reject the Place of Worship for the Campaign, All Components of the Community of Balikpapan declare Peaceful Elections

The Balikpapan Regional Leadership Communication Forum along with dozens of communities, community organizations, Islamic boarding schools, traditional leaders and religion leader conducted a peaceful declaration rejecting places of worship for political campaigns, spreading provocative issues of slander, worship, hoaxes, SARA and radicalism.

Balikpapan Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Wiwin Fitra said the declaration was aimed at giving understanding to all elements of society related to how to do good politics and avoid negative political efforts.

He asked citizens to wisely respond to the information obtained and to find out the truth of the information. He said, in this telnology era, we get a lot of information or news in the media and social media, both true news and untrue news or hoaxes.

The police chief also appealed to all candidates in the city of Balikpapan to compete in a healthy manner and invite residents not to abstain. According to him, one voice determines the fate of the citizens of Balikpapan City in the next five years. Different may only be in the ballot box, after that we remain together.

Separately, Balikpapan Mayor Rizal Effendi welcomed the declaration of the peaceful election. He wants the 2019 General Election to run smoothly, both to be successful in organizing, the success of his participation to success during the calculation. This activity is a good example of the implementation of the 2019 election.It is urged to all leaders to jointly maintain the 2019 elections in Balikpapan City and Indonesia generally in order to remain peaceful, safe, cool and successful. This is not just the organizer’s work. But also our work together to make it successful.
