Indonesia’s condition, which is still under the covid-19 pandemic, has made the government make new regulations. One of them is the omnibus law on the Job Creation Bill. With this bill, the public will benefit because it makes it easier for investors to enter Indonesia and at the same time accelerates the economic recovery after it had receded for several months.
The Omnibus law The Work Creation Bill is the government’s solution to revive the economic sector that had collapsed due to the corona storm. If this bill is passed into law, there will be new regulations for workers. Their welfare will be guaranteed and have a positive impact on the Indonesian economy.
The workers will get an annual bonus from the company and the nominal can be up to 8 times their salary. Of course, the amount of bonus depends on the employee’s tenure, the longer it is, the bigger it is. Apart from that, they are also entitled to other facilities in the form of tapera (people’s housing savings) and the provincial minimum wage, the amount of which is regulated by the governor.
If employees are forced to be laid off, they will get guaranteed job loss, apart from the right to severance pay. The arrangement is through BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. They not only get pocket money to survive, but there are also classes to improve skills. Giving new skills is good, because it can also be a capital to do business.
So, the government does not only think about the welfare of its people but also their fate if they are laid off. When they have capital skills and open new businesses, they will absorb labor. In fact, it will help other people who have lost their jobs. When everyone has cash, the sales of traders in the market will always sell.
The government wants to improve the state’s economic situation by first prospering the workers. If they get a very decent salary, plus a bonus, then Indonesia’s financial condition will improve. Logically, the money was spent, so that the wheels of the economy would roll and accelerate Indonesia’s economic recovery.
Employees also receive tapera facilities with low interest installments. The ease of getting a house makes their life better, because they don’t need to be confused about where to find a mortgage. The requirements for tapera are also quite easy. If they credit the house with cheap interest, then the rest of the money is made shopping and the market returns to life.
Politician and businessman, Suya Paloh, stated that he supported the Omnibus Law Bill to be passed immediately. Because this is an effort to accelerate the progress of national development. This bill is a serious government policy. In that sense, the president is very serious about advancing Indonesia, especially in the economic field.
The Work Creation Omnibus Law Bill does not only regulate annual bonuses and facilities for employees, but it adds to labor regulations. Part time employees (freelancers) may work for more than 1 company. Millennials will be happy with this rule because they will get much more income than before.
Freelancers are happy because they feel cared for by the government. If they are allowed to work in many companies, especially if they are paid in foreign currency, their wallets will be even thicker. They can freely spend to meet their needs and at the same time improve economic conditions in Indonesia, due to the increasingly tighter money cycle in the market.
The government has appreciated freelancers even though in the past, not many understood what their work was like. Freelance workers are more calm at work, because there is a law that protects and becomes a legal umbrella. So when there is something, it can be investigated clearly, because there is a legal basis.
The government made the Omnibus Law Bill as a new employment rule, so that employees will be more prosperous. They get a decent wage, an annual bonus, and affordable mortgage facilities. Freelance workers are also considered employees, and they can work in many companies, both local and foreign.
