The entire series of New Year’s celebrations 2025, went very smoothly. This is thanks to the various very effective policies implemented by the government.
Some of these effective policies, starting from transportation regulations to the electricity and tourism sectors, the strategic steps taken have proven effective in overcoming the challenges of community mobility and supporting smooth activities during the holiday period.
The government is not only focused on mitigating congestion or smooth transportation, but also on providing adequate public facilities so that all people can celebrate the New Year safely and comfortably.
Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, emphasized that policies related to public mobility during the 2025 New Year holidays and celebrations were carefully designed. The Ministry of Transportation has prepared various regulations involving cross-ministerial and institutional arrangements to ensure smooth transportation flows across all modes, including land, sea, air, and rail.
Steps such as limiting the operation of goods transport, implementing a contra flow system, and regulating crossings at ports, have succeeded in avoiding severe congestion at strategic points.
On the other hand, policies such as ship fleet arrangements, temporary closure of UPPKB, and route diversion have also succeeded in reducing the potential for traffic disruptions at major ports such as Merak and Bakauheni.
In the aviation sector, policies such as reducing airfares and increasing air transport capacity have proven helpful in accommodating the significant surge in passenger numbers.
The government also ensures that all airports operate at optimal capacity and safely. Extreme weather mitigation efforts have also been carefully prepared, especially to anticipate disruptions to flight operations and road transportation that could potentially be affected by bad weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the electricity sector also received serious attention from the government. President Director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, explained that more than 81,000 personnel were deployed to ensure smooth electricity supply during the holiday period.
PLN not only monitors vital areas such as churches, shopping centers, and crowded places, but also ensures the availability of electricity for personal needs such as electric vehicles.
With strict supervision at more than 4,300 posts spread throughout Indonesia, electrical disturbances that could ruin the festive atmosphere can be prevented. This program is also strengthened by monitoring and support through the PLN Mobile application which allows electric vehicle users to plan trips more safely.
The Ministry of Tourism also plays a key role in managing the movement of domestic and foreign tourists during the New Year holidays and celebrations. Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, said that collaboration with various parties has resulted in a number of strategic steps to ensure the smooth flow of tourists.
One of the main initiatives is the preparation of the Circular Letter of the Minister of Tourism which provides guidance for tourism industry players so that tourism activities can take place safely and comfortably.
In addition, tourism promotion through the “JAJAN #DiIndonesiaAja” campaign has also successfully increased the number of domestic tourists who choose to vacation in local destinations. Tourists can enjoy various tourist attractions such as beaches, culinary, and mountains safely thanks to coordination between the Ministry of Tourism and local governments.
Not only that, the government has also succeeded in overcoming challenges in the form of potential traffic jams and natural disasters that may occur. With intensive coordination between various institutions, including the Transportation Agency and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), quick and appropriate mitigation steps can be taken.
The route diversion plan, as well as monitoring of points prone to congestion and accidents, will ensure that the entire series of New Year’s 2025 celebrations can proceed without any significant obstacles.
On the other hand, the tourism sector also receives attention in the form of promotion and preparation of tourist destinations that have been mapped in detail to avoid crowds that have the potential to pose risks.
Overall, government policies have proven effective in creating a safe, comfortable, and smooth holiday atmosphere. All related sectors, from transportation, electricity, to tourism, have successfully collaborated to support the smooth running of the entire series of New Year’s celebrations 2025.
With careful planning and good coordination between various ministries and institutions, Indonesia managed to organize a New Year’s holiday and celebration that was free from major disruptions. The government has also taken into account various risk factors, such as bad weather and a surge in tourist numbers, so that the impact can be minimized.
The 2025 New Year celebration is a real example of the success of government policies in managing people’s movements and creating a holiday experience that is not only fun but also safe.
Through systematic preventive efforts and cross-sector collaboration, the entire series of celebrations can run very smoothly, providing comfort for the community celebrating the New Year. This success shows that with the right policies and effective coordination, the big challenges in managing national holiday moments can be overcome well.
