Balikpapan — The Indonesian government is very serious about building a smart city in Indonesia. This seriousness can be seen from the execution and the existence of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago.

Kuswanto as Acting Director of Government Administration and Development Licensing at OIKN explained that in the development of the National Capital, several features for smart cities were implemented.

“At IKN we will develop several features for smart cities, such as smart governance, smart transportation and mobility, smart living, smart natural resources and energy management, smart industry, smart buildings and so on,” he said.

To make the realization of a smart city in IKN a success, the government has also developed a roadmap towards zero emissions and a smart city roadmap.

Not only that, Kuswanto continued, that IKN Nusantara is also developing green building and smart building policies.

According to him, the realization of all these things is a form of real commitment from the government to truly build a smart city in Indonesia.

“It is hoped that the smart city will run well,” said the Acting Director of Government Administration and Development Licensing at OIKN.

With this very serious execution from the government, he added, later when people live in IKN they will experience public services with the application of technology.

“So when people live in IKN, all problems or all public service processes are carried out smartly, using information technology,” explained Kuswanto.

Discussing access to funding from the development of IKN Nusantara, Kuswanto revealed that 80 percent came from investment, then the remainder, namely 20 percent from APBN funds.

Because most of the funding for IKN development comes from investment, the party continues to invite investors, both domestic and foreign, to participate.

“Of course, we, the Archipelago Capital Authority, hope that investors, both domestic and foreign, can participate,” he said.

So far, from 5 groundbreakings since last November, Indonesia has succeeded in bringing in investment worth up to 49.6 trillion.

“Until today, since November we have held groundbreaking 5 times. “And God willing, in the near future there will also be a groundbreaking for several investors,” explained Kuswanto.

“So the total groundbreaking from 1 to 5 reached 49.6 trillion, that is for investments that have entered and groundbreaking,” he added.
