The public fully supports the efforts of all levels of security forces (Apkam) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) to completely eradicate the practice of online gambling or online gambling which has clearly caused misery to all people who come into contact with it.
With full support from all elements of Indonesian society, it will give more enthusiasm to the security forces to carry out all their duties, including eradicating the practice of online gambling which has been rampant recently.
Because it has really damaged the whole nation and made it even more miserable for the little people, of course the practice of online gambling or online gambling must disappear on Mother Earth. For this reason, it is important to have full support from the community for how the security forces carry out their eradication duties.
The involvement of all elements of society is of course very important and the government needs it in efforts to prevent and eradicate the practice of online gambling or online gambling which has recently occurred frequently.
Sociologist from the University of Indonesia (UI), Nadia Yovani, said that sociologically, society consists of the government, business organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). So all parties certainly play an important role in efforts to prevent and eradicate online gambling so that conduciveness can reach the grass roots.
The main task of community groups to prevent and eradicate online gambling practices is to carry out socialization that online gambling itself is an act that violates the law and is not at all in accordance with the provisions of Indonesian law.
So, when the security forces are carrying out security measures related to cyber crime, there is also participation from the community, namely by continuing to campaign for the dangers of online gambling practices. Apart from that, citizens can also directly get actively involved if they encounter online gambling by reporting it to the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
Not only that, but community groups can also hold hearings with stakeholders or related stakeholders such as the House of Representatives (DPR) and security forces, thereby creating the same enthusiasm in efforts to prevent and eradicate online gambling practices.
Meanwhile, the President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that the government is very serious in its efforts to prevent and eradicate online gambling.
Because the practice of online gambling is actually transactional in nature and involves various jurisdictions, the Head of State emphasized how important it is to involve or actively participate from all elements of society to curb gambling.
In fact, as one of the most important forms of defense to continue to protect the various pillars of nationality, including the nation’s young generation, from being damaged simply because of these illegal practices, the defense of society itself and individual defense is the key.
Not only civil society, but also an important role in jointly preventing and eradicating online gambling are religious leaders, traditional leaders and other community leaders as well as all citizens who can really actively remind each other, monitor and even report if they found indications of online gambling practices in their respective environments.
The active involvement of all elements of society plays a critical role in efforts to build national defense in stemming the massive practice of online gambling that has occurred recently in line with developments in technology, communication and information.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia (Menkominfo RI), Budi Arie Setiadi, said that all people in the country need to be aware that the practice of online gambling is a form of fraud or scam which is very clearly causing more misery for the people, so the Government should RI completely eradicated it through the ranks of the security forces.
This understanding is very important, because if the public already knows the bad impacts of online gambling, it is not impossible that efforts by the government and security forces to eradicate and prevent online gambling can be made easier.
Don’t be half-hearted, in fact the practice of online gambling is a very real form of scam and is the biggest form of fraud for all Indonesian people.
As an example of logic, how is it possible that money that is only IDR 50 thousand can immediately double in the blink of an eye to IDR 1 billion from gambling proceeds? So of course the answer is that this will never happen.
So that fraudulent practices or scams which cause great misery to the people do not continue to occur and so that they do not spread, the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Communication and Information has terminated all access to content containing and indicating online gambling practices in the digital space in Indonesia.
All forms of efforts, strategies and steps taken by the government through all levels of the Republic of Indonesia’s security apparatus should receive full support from the public so that the prevention and eradication of online gambling practices can be maximized because this only causes misery to the people.
