Indonesia Holds IESF World Esports Championship 2022
Nusa Dua- The Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI) has stated their commitment to support the development of the esports ecosystem in the country. One of its commitments is to present various major events that represent potential, and empowerment in the Esports industry, titled the 14th World Esports Championship which is currently being held in Nusa Dua Bali.
The event, which will be held in Bali, from 2 to 11 December 2022, with a variety of other supporting activities such as workshops featuring experts and esports players, exhibitions, and art stages for various Indian cultures have been prepared. The 2022 IESF World Championships event is also a gathering place for athletes and fans of electronic sports.
Indonesia Esports Summit: The 14th World Esports Championship is the biggest outdoor Esports event in the world. The series of matches in Bali will be the culmination of a series of qualifiers that took place around the world from February to October 2022.
There are 6 categories being contested, namely Tekken 7, DotA 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, eFootball 2022, and CS:GO. Specifically for CS:GO, the CS:GO Male and CS:GO Female categories will be competed. The total prizes provided are USD 500,000.
The Chief Executive of the Indonesian Esports Council (PBESI), Bambang Sunarwibowo expressed PBESI’s optimism for the positive impact of the Indonesia Esports Summit: Bali 14th World Esports Championships 2022.
“We will convey a message to the wider community and stakeholders (government), industry players, the world of education, that Esports is a positive field for people who have intelligence, creativity, discipline and a high work ethic,” he said.
He is optimistic that the Indonesia Esports Summit: Bali 14th World Esports Championships will become a strong foundation for Indonesia in the future as one of the world’s esports centers and barometers.
Bambang also hopes that the public will support the International Esport Federation (IESF) World Esport Championships 2022. This event is not just playing games, it also introduces Indonesian culture and other advantages of the Indonesian nation.
Meanwhile, IESF President Vlad Marinescu, said that his party was very enthusiastic about holding it in Bali. Gaming communities from around the world will gather in one place to play together, grow together, and support one another.
Indonesia was officially appointed as the host of the world esports championship at the end of 2022, after being selected from six other countries that also took part in bidding, which was announced by the President of the International Esports Federation (IESF) Vlad Marinescu at the IESF Ordinary General Meeting in Eliat.
