The Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) can rightly be called terrorists because they carried out attacks and terror, and even took hostages. KST must be eradicated so as not to harm Papuans, both natives and migrants. The Cartenz Peace Task Force is working hard to catch KST so that Papua remains peaceful and peaceful.
Peace in the land of Papua was damaged by the KST because they caused trouble by shooting civilians and soldiers on duty. KST did this because they wanted to liberate Papua, so they were looking for all ways to expel the security forces, because they were considered representatives of the Indonesian government.
In early February 2023, KST also took hostages of pilots and passengers of Susi Air planes in Papua. Even the plane was also burned. The community criticized KST because one of the passengers was still a baby so his condition was very worrying, and he had to be held hostage in the middle of the Papuan jungle which was uncomfortable.
Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Commissioner General (Komjen) Police Boy Rafli Amar stated that the government had de facto designated the armed criminal group (KKB) in Papua as a terrorist organization. The process of determining the status of the KKB in Papua as a terrorist organization is currently being processed at the Central Jakarta District Court.
Komjen Pol Boy continued, although it is currently in process, the government has de facto determined that if the KKB in Papua is later legally determined as a terrorist organization, his party will include it in the List of Suspected Terrorists and Terrorist Organizations (DTTOT).
What the KKB has done in Papua has fulfilled the elements of a criminal act of terrorism, as well as ideological and political motives, as in Law (UU) Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism.
This argument was also conveyed by the BNPT during a coordination meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD in the framework of discussing the establishment of the KKB in DTTOT in 2021.
First, KST is anti-NKRI, does not want to join, wants to be separated from Indonesia and of course does not recognize the Pancasila state ideology. So their violence has also been very extreme, even causing victims.
The community, especially Papuans, fully support the designation of KST as a terrorist group. The reason is because they have gone too far by carrying out attacks and arson, even taking hostages. The victim who was still a baby was also kidnapped.
People remember last year when there was a KST victim who was still a toddler, who was forced to lose his finger, as a result of their attack KST was too cruel by eating innocent child victims. Therefore this group must be eradicated so as not to disturb the people of Papua.
Papuans support the eradication of KST because their actions have crossed the line and used terrorist-style methods that are full of violence. Even though there were no bombings, KST has repeatedly sparked crowds and fears there will be another war between tribes.
It has been decades since inter-tribal wars have not occurred in Papua. Don’t let this bad thing happen again because there are tribes that defend KST while other tribes oppose it. Therefore, the community is asked to be unified in eradicating KST and no one is supporting it.
The terrorist status held by KST is very reasonable. The reason is because KST does not only threaten with psychological terror, but also with firearms. Illegal weapons were not only displayed but also used to kill. Isn’t this a terrorist way of working? So it is only natural that the former name was KKB (Armed Criminal Group) and then changed its name to KST (Separatist and Terrorist Group).
KST also commits murders very violently. The killings carried out by KST were not only carried out on members of the TNI and Polri, but also ordinary citizens. Even though the civilians they killed were not police spies as KST had accused them of. KST too often thinks negatively and is paranoid, so everyone is mistaken for a spy. When there is something suspicious, they are immediately shot without prior confirmation.
Meanwhile, DPR Commission I TB Hasanuddin said the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) could not move alone in the process of rescuing the Susi Air pilot after the KKB attacked the PK-BVY plane and burned the KKB in Nduga, Central Papua. This is because the handling of KKB is currently the domain of law enforcement officials, in this case the police.
In a sense, the TNI is collaborating with the Police in efforts to eradicate KST. Cooperation must indeed be carried out so that the raid on the KST headquarters is more effective. If there is collaboration, we are optimistic that this terrorist group will be easily eradicated and will no longer endanger the people of Papua.
KST is a group that commits terror and atrocities, so it’s only natural to call it a terrorist group. The reason is because they carry out attacks like terrorists. TNI and Polri soldiers worked together to attack KST, so that the separatist group was defeated and could be disbanded. KST must be eradicated so as not to endanger the lives of Papuans.
