The actions of the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) clearly violate humanity because they killed security forces, who were part of the indigenous Papuans (OAP). According to the General Chairperson (Ketum) of Papuan Indigenous Youth, Yan Christian Arebo, the cruelty and barbarity exhibited by KST Papua is clearly something that is beyond the bounds of humanity.

Therefore, the indigenous youth strongly criticized what the separatist gang had done to the security forces from the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

KST Papua’s barbaric action resulted in the death of two members of the National Police, namely Police Brigadier Two (Bripda) Arnaldobert Yawan and Bripda Sandi Defrit Sayuri. It is known that the two police personnel were previously guarding Helipad 99 which is located near the Ndeotadi 99 Police Post, Baya Biru District, Paniai Regency on March 20 2024.

Not only was he shot dead, but it turned out that KST Papua led by Aibon Kogoya also confiscated or stole two AK-47 firearms (senpi) belonging to the victim.

It is very ironic that this incident occurred, because the two victims were members of the National Police and were members of the OAP community, moreover they were both shot dead and not in the context of carrying out a pursuit or taking legal action and were exchanging fire with the terrorist gang.

However, the two victims were only carrying out their duties as members of the National Police to provide security for Helipad 99. According to the Paniai Resort Police Chief (Kapolres), Adjunct Police Commissioner (AKBP) Abdus Syukur Felani, in the middle of carrying out their duties, the two victims were suddenly shocked. with gunfire coming from the east.

Not only the National Police, KST Papua also shot down the TNI

It is not only security forces from the National Police unit who are victims of the cruelty and barbarity of KST Papua. However, not even a week ago, namely some time ago, on Sunday, March 17 2024, a similar incident also occurred.

At that time, a gang whose ideology was contrary to the basic philosophy of the state attacked security forces from TNI soldiers, resulting in Marine First Sergeant Ismunandar being martyred in Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua.

At that time, Sertu (Mar) Ismunandar became a victim of KST Papua’s barbarity when he traveled to the Kulirik area with a colleague, namely Serka Salim Lestaluhu. The gunfire from the separatist group also hit Serka Salim, causing him to suffer serious injuries.

Papuan Figures Emphasize that the KST Movement is Not a Struggle but a Human Rights Crime

One of the community leaders in Bumi Cenderawasih, Yonas Alfons Nusy, emphasized that the movement carried out by KST Papua was not a struggle as they had been claiming, that it was as if they were continuing to fight for an independent Papua. However, it turns out that their movements so far have been nothing more than attempts to commit crimes and gross violations of human rights.

How could it not be, there are so many actions that have been carried out by these separatist gangs, ranging from acts of violence, taking hostages, threats, abuse, destruction of public facilities and even murders that have occurred either among OAP civilians themselves or against security forces.

Not only that, apart from carrying out criminal acts, terrorist gangs also often spread rumors, slander and fake news or hoaxes which they spread on social media with the aim of carrying out propaganda. So if so, then where does this so-called struggle come from? Looking at the track record that KST Papua has, it is clear that their movement is an attempt to commit a crime that seriously violates human rights.

Moreover, all these movements so far have also been able to create uncertainty and at the same time fear among society, or in other words, create frightening terror for civilians. In addition, all their actions have been very detrimental to the government and detrimental to the country.

The reason is, there are many efforts to develop the welfare of the Papuan people that have been intensified by the Government, but quite a few of these efforts were ultimately disrupted by attacks from KST Papua and the destruction of several public facilities built by the government so that development in Bumi Cenderawasih was greatly hampered.

All of KST Papua’s actions cannot be justified at all and cannot be tolerated either. Their actions have absolutely no moral basis or objective that can be justified anymore, so there is only one way to suppress them, namely eradicating KST Papua by punishing and taking firm action against them. Many of their actions have seriously violated human values.
