The validity of the victory of the pair Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 Presidential Election was determined on Monday (22/4/2024). The Constitutional Court (MK) has read out its decision on the dispute over the results of the Presidential and Vice Presidential elections at exactly 09.00 WIB.
All parties are expected to accept whatever decision the constitutional judges make. National figures also accepted and appreciated the results of the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the presidential election dispute. Not a few national figures have congratulated Prabowo-Gibran on their victory in the 2024 elections.
The General Chair of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) also appreciated the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the results of the 2024 Presidential Election. According to him, the Constitutional Court’s decision, which is final and binding, has become the basis and foothold for the KPU in determining the winner in the 2024 Presidential Election. According to AHY, the leadership of the Constitutional Court has take and make the right decisions for the benefit of the Indonesian people.
His party understands the extraordinary pressure and burden faced by MK leaders to make decisions that present truth and justice. AHY also prayed that the Prabowo-Gibran couple would be successful in carrying out their duties and service to the nation and state.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chair of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly, Syarief Hasan, welcomed the MK’s steps in deciding the 2024 General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) case on Monday (22/4.2024). Based on the Constitutional Court’s decision, Syarief congratulated Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka who were officially elected as President and Vice President for the 2024-2029 period. According to him, with the completion of the 2024 presidential election series, it is time to welcome a new leader who will bring Indonesia forward and prosperous.
Meanwhile, General Chair of the SOKSI National Leadership Council, Ir. Ali Wongso Sinaga highly appreciated the Constitutional Court’s decision to reject the petition for another candidate pair’s lawsuit at the Constitutional Court hearing last Monday (22/4/2024). Based on Article 24 C paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution, the Constitutional Court’s decision is final and binding, so with this decision Prabowo-Gibran becomes the legally elected President and Vice President for 2024-2029 in accordance with the Republic of Indonesia KPU Decree No. 360 of 2024 concerning Determination of 2024 Election Results.
Ali also said that SOKSI had high appreciation for the five MK judges who unanimously supported the MK’s decision. This attitude is considered an expression of his integrity through his obedience to the limits of his authority as regulated by the 1945 Constitution, the Constitutional Court Law, and the consistent enforcement of the Election Law as well as his strong statesmanlike capacity.
After the Constitutional Court’s decision, Ali hopes that all elements of the nation can accept the final and binding results of the Constitutional Court’s decision with grace and grace, of course also in the spirit of kinship and national mutual cooperation in order to achieve mutual progress towards strengthening towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
The Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) Banten Regional Management also expressed its appreciation for the results of the Constitutional Court’s decision which rejected all requests to dispute the results of the 2024 Presidential Election submitted by other candidate pairs. Banten, KH Bunyamin Hafidz said that it was time for all parties to look at Indonesia’s future towards becoming a developed country with blessings and benefits. He also invited all elements of society to accept and appreciate the results of the trial decision and unite again into a harmonious and peaceful society.
PWNU Banten calls on all parties to end the polemic over the ongoing election results and start a debate sheet along with the reading of the Constitutional Court’s decision, so that national and state life can continue as usual. Apart from that, his party also appealed to all elements involved in organizing the elections to take lessons from the implementation of the 2024 elections in order to improve the implementation of elections in the future.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Amirsyah Tambunan, said that the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the 2024 presidential election dispute could be accepted by all components of the nation. He also hopes that all parties will unite again to build the nation, because the decision has gone through a correct and accountable judicial process.
Amirsyah emphasized that all parties must return to harmony and work together to build the nation, as well as political party leaders, community leaders and religious leaders to continue to provide good education and role models, re-establish the values of unity and brotherhood, so that the Indonesian nation becomes a nation that harmony, unity, justice, prosperity and progress.
This Constitutional Court decision will be the end of various constitutional legal efforts that can be taken by the parties involved in the case. Therefore, all elements of the nation are obliged to respect and accept the results of the trial decision issued by the Constitutional Court. After this decision, the community must return to being brothers, work together to continue and support the Government in advancing Indonesia, and play a role in preparing for a Golden Indonesia 2045.
