Papua, as an inseparable part of the Republic of Indonesia, is increasingly showing its commitment to progress and development. In this context, Papua is not only identified as a region rich in culture and natural resources, but also as a region that has great potential to contribute to national development. Efforts to improve the welfare of the Papuan people and ensure they feel the benefits of development must continue to be encouraged.

This can be achieved through close collaboration between government, society and the private sector. With greater support and attention, the Papuan people are expected to be able to actively participate in every development program implemented. Communities also need to be given the opportunity to develop existing local potential, so that they can participate in developing the region and nation.

Pastor Yones Wenda, a Papuan community leader, delivered a message full of hope, reminding that Papua is intact within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia. He emphasized the importance of maintaining unity in diversity. He invited the public to welcome independence with joy and show the world that Papua is an integral part of Indonesia. The revival of Papua, according to him, cannot be separated from the spirit of nationalism and love for the country. This statement reflects the spirit that lives among the Papuan people, who always try to promote peace and unity.

A positive response ahead of the independence celebrations was also seen in Karas District, Fakfak. In this area, the local community has held various competitions to celebrate the Republic of Indonesia’s 79th anniversary. These various activities not only aim to celebrate independence, but also to strengthen the sense of togetherness among residents. The Head of Karas District, Lud Masrur Kamud, revealed that he was very enthusiastic about taking part in various competitions being held, such as areca climbing and sack races. He stated that it was hoped that this activity could build togetherness and increase the sense of nationalism among the community.

The Papua Provincial Government is also taking part in enlivening this celebration by launching a series of activities which are expected to increase the sense of nationality and unity among the community. In this declaration, the Acting Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rudalamun emphasized that the various activities planned would involve active community participation, ranging from sports competitions to arts and cultural activities. He hopes that, through this activity, the Papuan people can show their love and pride for their homeland and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between citizens.

Activities like this, in essence, are not just a competition, but are also an effort to build a sense of solidarity and togetherness in society. Pastor Yones Wenda also hopes that the Papuan people will be able to welcome independence with a spirit of mutual cooperation. He reminded that it is important to support each other and work together, not only for personal interests but also for the common good. He emphasized that Papua is a home that must be looked after as well as possible.

Papua, with all its unique culture and natural riches, has extraordinary potential to support national economic development. By developing strategic sectors such as tourism, agriculture and fisheries, it is hoped that Papua can become a driving force for Indonesia’s economic growth. Awareness of the importance of sustainable and inclusive development needs to continue to be fostered, so that every element of society can feel the benefits of this development.

In this context, the role of government and society is very important. The government needs to present programs that support the Papuan people, while the community is expected to actively participate in development. It is believed that the synergy between the government and society will create a climate conducive to better growth and development in Papua.

As part of the Republic of Indonesia, Papua has the responsibility to maintain the integrity and unity of the nation. In carrying out this responsibility, it is important for every element of society to continue to prioritize constructive dialogue and communication. Pastor Yones Wenda also reminded that intercultural dialogue can be a bridge to build understanding and mutual respect between various tribes and cultures in Papua.

He said that the only way to achieve progress is to understand and respect each other. He invites people to make differences a strength, not a barrier. This message raises public awareness to continue to build harmonious relations within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia.

Towards independence, it would be best for all parties, both in Papua and throughout Indonesia, to reflect on the meaning of independence. Independence is not just about being free from colonialism, but also about living in harmony, respecting each other, and contributing to the progress of the nation. With this spirit, Papua can progress and develop within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia.

In closing, the celebration of the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia is a momentum for all people to unite and contribute to developing the country. Papua, with all its potential and wealth, has an important role in realizing the ideals of independence. Through togetherness, mutual cooperation and a spirit of unity, Papua and all of Indonesia can move forward towards a better future. In this way, the true ideals of independence will be realized, and Papua will continue to be intact within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia, contributing positively to nation building.
