President Jokowi Deserves to be Called the Father of National Infrastructure
Jakarta, – President Jokowi’s 10-year leadership has received much appreciation from many parties. During President Joko Widodo’s administration, infrastructure development has become the government’s focus. Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (FEB UI) Telisa Aulia Falianty assessed that Jokowi deserves to be appreciated as the Father of Indonesian Infrastructure.
“He is the father of Indonesian infrastructure. Our state budget is around more than IDR 400 – 500 trillion per year allocated for infrastructure development,” said Telisa, when met by B-Universe, at the FEB UI Campus, Salemba, Jakarta, on Thursday (26/9/2024).
Infrastructure development in the Jokowi era has facilitated connectivity, basic services, food distribution, and provided a multiplier effect for the Indonesian economy and society, reaching remote areas of the country, including the Remote, Frontier and Outermost (3T) regions.
Meanwhile, Jokowi’s leadership also received appreciation from Muhammadiyah figures. Secretary General of PP Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti said he appreciated the performance achievements of 10 years during his leadership and invited all elements of the nation to maintain political stability as an effort for the sustainability of the leadership transition in the future. This was conveyed some time ago.
“We must be a nation that is able to appreciate and respect its leaders objectively,” he explained.
Mu’ti further said that it is also important for the public to provide a comprehensive assessment of the achievements that President Jokowi and his staff have achieved over the past 10 years.
Meanwhile, public policy observer from Tri Sakti University Dr. Trubus Rahardiansyah appreciated the implementation of the election which was safe, controlled and conducive. Dr. Trubus Rahardiansyah said that the transition period of the government of President and Vice President Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin to Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka would run smoothly as expected by the Head of State.
“After the 2024 Election, there was no significant upheaval,” said Trubus when contacted in Jakarta, Monday.
For this reason, the Public Policy Observer assessed that the transition of the highest leadership in Indonesia will proceed as desired by President Joko Widodo, namely smoothly.
