The community synergizes with security forces and Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Body) for a better future for Indonesia. Elections are the momentum to choose a new president and bring this country forward. Therefore, cooperation between parties must be carried out, so that this event runs smoothly.
Elections (general elections) are held every 5 years. The people are waiting for him with enthusiasm, because they want to get a new leader candidate. Since the reform era, Indonesian citizens have been freed to choose their own presidential candidate, not the same as in the past, choosing parties and candidates. Elections are thrilling events because the results can be beyond predictions.
Elections must be prepared from now so that later it will run well. All elements of society synergize to create peaceful elections and support the government, KPU and all other parties. Peace must be maintained so that elections take place smoothly without any riots.
East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa revealed the importance of the community supporting the holding of the upcoming 2024 elections. According to him, the 2024 elections held by the General Election Commission (KPU) are very important for sustainable development at all levels for Indonesia’s future.
Khofifah continued, the 2024 election will become part of elite circulation at the local to national level. One of them gave birth to the election of the President and Vice President. Next, the government cabinet is formed. The President proposed the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the National Police Chief, and the Ambassador to the DPR RI which were also the results of the election.
In that sense, support from the public is very valuable for the success of the election. The community is also obliged to work together with the KPU, Bawaslu, and other parties so that the elections run smoothly. Don’t oppose Bawaslu, let alone abstain from voting (white group) or don’t vote on election day.
Meanwhile, the Gunungkidul Bawaslu held a Peaceful Election Declaration at the Gunungkidul Cultural Park (TBG), some time ago. The chairman of the Gunungkidul Bawaslu, Tri Asmiyanto, said the declaration was still in the momentum of the anniversary of Gunungkidul Regency and the birthday of Pancasila. It is hoped that the spirit of these two important events will also be present and owned by all elements of society to participate in overseeing elections that are peaceful, safe and with integrity.
On this occasion, he led the reading of the declaration of quality and integrity peace election declarations. The two points of the pledge are: realizing elections that are direct, public, free of secrets, honest and fair. Then commit to supporting elections that are safe, orderly, peaceful, with integrity, without hoaxes, hate speech, politicization of SARA. and money politics.
Tri Asmiyanto hopes that participatory election supervision can be realized. Cross-agency and community participation in supervising all stages of the 2024 election. All elements of society are also aware that elections are a shared desire and property.
In this way, the risk of election violations can be minimized. Democratic parties can take place according to the principles and provisions. Finally, quality elections produce leaders or people’s representatives who are able to bring prosperity.
Peace must also be maintained because the campaign period can increase emotions and make the situation even hotter. Therefore, the public must remember that elections and pre-elections are carried out peacefully.
Harmony and unity must be maintained ahead of the 2024 elections. The community can play a major role in creating peaceful elections. Elections are an event to choose leaders and candidates for new legislation. Do not make it a place of war or fierce hostilities because you are too supportive of a particular political party or presidential candidate.
If you look in the mirror from the 2014 and 2019 elections, hostilities took place in cyberspace and the situation was so heated that there were bad nicknames from each of the presidential candidate supporting camps at that time. Don’t let this happen again because people should be adults and leave hostilities. Elections must be fair (honest and fair) and uphold peace in Indonesia.
Hostilities must be abolished because they can be used by provocateurs and individuals who want to take advantage of adversity. Do not let there be social chaos because of their actions. Therefore, the community must play a major role in creating peaceful elections, so that there are no riots that lead to brawls and can result in casualties.
In order to succeed in the 2024 elections, commitment from various parties is needed because the KPU cannot work alone. It needs support from the community, ministries and security forces so that the elections run smoothly and peacefully. If the election goes smoothly, it will be profitable because there is no fraudulent drama or even a heartbreaking tragedy that accompanies the 2024 election procession.
Society will maintain peace and unity during elections. You do this by taking care of yourself, both in the real world and in cyberspace, and not making suspicious statuses or attacking other parties. Don’t let social media become hot during and after the election because of excessive fanaticism for a particular presidential candidate or legislative candidate.
The community synergizes with the KPU, Bawaslu, and other parties to make the elections successful. Elections are an important momentum to maintain national unity. Harmony and unity must be maintained even though elections are still being held next year.
