The Minister of Finance’s clear answer, Sri Mulyani, shows off Jokowi’s achievements in the field of road infrastructure
Responding to Anies Baswedan’s statement comparing the achievements of road infrastructure development in the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati actually revealed various achievements of Jokowi’s leadership during his tenure, one of which was related to infrastructure.
“In the last ten years we have seen and felt various advances from the results of infrastructure development. Various vital infrastructures have increased significantly both in terms of quantity and quality,” said Sri Mulyani.
The achievements of the Jokowi government in terms of road infrastructure development released by the PUPR ministry stated that in the period from 2014 to 2022, among other things, the length of national roads which were previously recorded at 46,432 km in 2014, increased by 1,385 km to 47,817 km in 2022.
Second, the length of provincial and district/city roads has increased dramatically from 37,064 km to 501,344 km. Third, the length of toll roads has increased sharply by 1,500 km to 2,499 km last year. Then, there are still 1,800 km of toll roads which are currently under construction.
In addition to the construction of toll roads, the government is also building dam infrastructure which has a vital function for irrigation sources for the agricultural sector, flood control and power generation, which has also increased significantly.
The number of dams that have been built increased from 15 dams in 2014 to 42 dams in 2022, with irrigation capacity increasing significantly from 110 thousand hectares in 2014 to 303 thousand hectares in 2022.
“Dam infrastructure has a vital function for irrigation sources for the agricultural sector, flood control and power generation, which has also increased significantly,” said Sri Mulyani.
Sri Mulyani said that one way to improve the quality of human resources for the younger generation was to reduce the stunting rate. It was recorded that the stunting rate or malnourished children had decreased from 30.8% in 2018 to 21.6% in 2022. Sri Mulyani also ensured that the reduction in stunting would continue. accelerated to reach the target of 14% in 2024. In addition, the extreme poverty rate, which was recorded at 2.04% in 2022, will continue to be reduced to 0% in 2024.
