Anies Baswedan’s response to differences in road infrastructure development during the era of Joko Widodo and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) was assessed as not based on complete facts.

According to Anies, the construction of road infrastructure during the Jokowi administration era to connect population mobility and drive the community’s economy was less compared to the era of the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB) Zainul Majdi, National Daily Chair of the Perindo Party DPP, criticized the data submitted by a potential presidential candidate from the NasDem Party, Anies Baswedan. Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB) asked Presidential Candidate Anis Baswedan to compare it fairly with data that is not half and half.

“As a presidential candidate, he should have explained it in full. He did not mention about village roads that were built during President Jokowi’s time for 9 years until the end of 2022. There are more than 316 thousand kilometers,” said TGB through an official statement, Sunday (21/5/ 2023).

TGB said, Anies did not mention that Jokowi had succeeded in building more than 316,000 kilometers of village roads. “In the 9 year period until the end of 2022 there were more than 316,000 kilometers of village roads built by President Jokowi,” he explained.

TGB appreciates Jokowi’s alignment with development in the village. According to him, one of the instruments to reduce inequality and achieve social justice for all Indonesian people is to increase prosperity at the village level.

“One of the strategies is to reduce logistics costs to facilitate the flow of goods and services. The production of our farmers, rice, soybeans, cattle and all kinds of things that are produced at the village level must be easily accessible and must have good logistics facilities,” he explained.

Because of that, according to him, the construction of village roads plays a very important role in bringing social justice to all Indonesian people, reducing inequality between villages and cities.

“Thus, if we submit complete data on the construction of unpaid roads during President Jokowi’s time, starting from national roads, provincial roads, district/city roads and village roads, the figure is around 340,000 kilometers, far above the construction of unpaid roads during the construction period in the previous era. ,” TGB said.

On the other hand, the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) also responded to Anies’ statement, KSP Main Expert Ade Irfan Pulungan said, road infrastructure development carried out by the government should not be seen in partial terms.

Development carried out by the government must be seen from the point of view of developing Indonesia and the welfare of society.

“So the way of thinking is the way it should be. Don’t be partial,” said Ade Irfan

“We should want to build this republic together from Sabang to Merauke,” he continued.
