The whole situation has been conditioned to be safe and comfortable in order to restore a sense of calm to the people of Indonesia, especially Papua and West Papua.

Whatever happens, the government is ready to provide decisive action for anyone who tries to divide the Republic of Indonesia.

One of the concrete efforts in creating conduciveness for this nation is to knit unity regardless of ethnicity, religion and race, this is important because from Sabang to Merauke, Indonesia is a country with a variety of cultural diversity, language and skin color.

Unity can be started with something light, such as staying calm and not easily ignited by provocation. And always think logically and always be aware of provocative news.

We can imitate some countries that have grown into superpowers. Where all elements of the united nation face all actions that are considered to provide threats.

Egoism for personal and group goals must be set aside as a form of a state that is safe and fair for all its people. So that no more similar events will occur.

There is no need for racist actions that we know to have an unfavorable impact on the Republic of Indonesia and to inflict wounds on the hearts of the Indonesian people. Hopefully the events that took place in Surabaya last August can be an important lesson that respect is the main basis of tolerance.

This sense of tolerance will later become a binding sense of unity among all layers of the Indonesian people which can foster a strong national stability and not split young.

Papua Governor Lukas Enembe also appealed to all Papuans wherever they are, to continue to coordinate with the security forces to avoid the existence of other parties who will use or ride certain interests in anarchic ways.

He also appealed to the Papuan people to maintain order while expressing their opinions, of course by not destroying public facilities, government offices and public buildings.

Meanwhile, the Government’s dexterity regarding racist actions towards Papuans has shown results. Various bright spots began to be found related to who was behind the racism. The government does not want to linger letting the atmosphere in endless confusion.

Not to mention the impact that will be caused, namely the tarnishing of people’s trust in the security forces. For this reason, the government has shown a serious skap in dealing with existing problems in Papua, this was proven after the Coordinating Minister for Political and Legal Affairs, Wiranto, the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief held road shows to Papua and West Papua. Followed by President Jokowi’s planned presence in early September.

Almost simultaneously, Police and TNI personnel from several regions have also been sent to Papua and West Papua to help guard and secure demonstrations.

Law enforcers, including DENPOM, have examined 3 Indonesian Armed Forces who were considered to have been involved in the action at the time of the commotion. One of the Tambaksari Danramil of Surabaya City has been deactivated. The head of the organization and several members of the organization including the Korlap have also been investigated. This act of racism is considered contrary to the basic norms of Human Rights (HAM).

Regarding evidence, it will be handed over to the Prosecutor who will be forwarded to the Court. Of course the community will be able to follow the trial process in Pengadlan, this is intended to prove that the government is able to act quickly in accordance with applicable law.

Although conditions in Papua are relatively conducive, National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian along with TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto will fly to Papua and West Papua. They will dialogue with Papuan and West Papuan community leaders.

The plan is that the National Police Chief and the TNI Commander will have offices in Papua and West Papua until the conditions there are considered stable and safe.

The National Police Chief along with the TNI Commander said that at least he wanted to be in Papua for 1 week, to really ensure that conditions in Papua had begun to improve.

The presence of the two senior TNI and Polri officials would certainly be a guarantee of security and conduciveness for Papua and West Papua, so that the people there could be active as before without any misgivings.
