Various Components of Papuan Society Together with the Governor and Commander of the TNI and the National Police Chief Signed the Papua Peace Declaration

In front of the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief and the Governor of Papua, 34 community components together with the Chairperson of the Papua People’s Assembly (MRP) and the Speaker of the Papuan Parliament signed an agreement on the post-peace peace declaration in Jayapura City. , on Thursday (09/09/2019) night.

In his remarks, the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe asserted that since now there is no longer the term of the archipelago community, and that there are citizens of the archipelago.

“I promise my brothers, I guarantee to anyone who lives on this land, you have the same rights,” he said.

He stressed that if it is no longer between groups in Papua to demean other groups because all are the same.

While National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian stressed that security is very important for an area, even the country, to be able to carry out development.

“The most important capital for all communities to build is not natural resources, yes human resources, but security stability is the most important,” said Tito.

Therefore he asked all parties to be able to commit to maintaining the stability of Papua’s security so that the wheels of development could be carried out again.

While TNI Commander in Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto reminded that the declaration made by 34 components of the community should not only be a formal activity, but must be implemented by all parties.

“The difference between one another is to complement each other into one power,” he said.

The “Declaration of Joint Agreement In Order to Safeguard Papua Land of Peace” was also attended by the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua, Chairperson of the MRP, Chair of the Parliament, Jayapura Mayor, Merauke Regent, representatives of religious leaders, traditional leaders, community leaders and youth leaders.
