These various commitments against Radicalism and Intolerance are increasingly intense. Because this understanding is considered troubling and can create national disintegration.
Various positive responses related to the rejection of deviant notions, namely radicalism is increasingly being voiced. Its spread is not only troubling, but can threaten harmony between religious communities. Not a small matter, given this understanding the fact makes a number of parties feel disadvantaged. Not only property, life will also be lost if not alert from an early age.
This is in line with the statement of Jaleswari Pramodhawardhani as Deputy V of the Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP). He admitted that the problem of radicalism began to increase since 10 years ago. Not only circulating government institutions but also other private lives. Including the education sector, which is increasingly vulnerable to this. He said that during the last 10 years the alarm of radicalism in Indonesia had sounded. Therefore, in the second period Jokowi’s government will be prioritized in the development of the quality of Human Resources (HR) which is based on the Pancasila ideology.
Major General (retired) Supiadin Aries Saputra, as a Former Assistant to the Commander of the TNI, also explained that radicalism had existed for a long time in the archipelago. He also gave an example when there was a revolt in TII and NII in the early days of independence. He explained, initially this movement was a traditional movement. However, as social media develops, this activity becomes more and more developed. According to him, until now there are around 120 million social media users in Indonesia. Which most or majority of the access comes from millennial. He considered if this public media was used by radicals to destroy the morale of the nation’s generation. Like asymmetric warfare, anomalous war that has the cutting edge of proxy war. Namely, war without using a fleet of war.
He also reminded, that the possibility that the potential to destroy the Indonesian nation came from Indonesian citizens themselves. If judging from the national resilience measurement index the National Defense Institution laboratory is known, in the ideology and socio-cultural sector, the value and index are in position 2, which means it is not resilient. While in the socio-cultural field also occupies a low position, education too. So, this is what causes easy misleading information on social media.
Opinions of the call to fight radicalism also came from the Brebes Regent, namely Idza Priyanti. He strongly condemned radicalism to acts of terrorism that occurred so far. Because the situation of state security is now being tested, both threats that come within the country and abroad. This Regent also hopes that the dialogue will be able to provide education to the community. The hope will later be able to be conveyed to the family, the environment in order to be more aware of the radical understanding that can infect through activities leading to terrorist activities. He did not forget to appeal to equip themselves with faith. With this foundation of faith, it is considered quite effective in counteracting this left-leaning understanding. Therefore, faith that is unstable or shaky will be easily infiltrated by this kind of deviant understanding.
At the opening ceremony of the state dialogue, the Brebes Regent along with representatives from the TNI, Polri officials, and not forgetting other organizations as well as participants present at the event signed a commitment to signify the refusal to understand radicalism and terrorism in the Brebes Regency. They are committed together to reject this radicalism understanding. If the public is aware of any suspicious activity, they can immediately report immediately to the heads of RT, RW, Babinkabtimas, Babinsa or the nearest police station. The implication, so that it can be immediately acted upon and anticipated.
Because this kind of complaint can be more fatal if not treated immediately. Because it’s spread is hard to predict. Even for the world of education itself we have encountered a lot of exposure to this understanding which has reached the most basic line which is considered alarming. The status of students at an early age does not rule out the possibility of being left-winged. So that the role of the family is indeed considered very crucial, besides that the planting of the ideology of Pancasila will also be able to make the perpetrators respond to all information more critically, but remain wise. Optimal efforts to combat radicalism must continue to be inculcated. Until there will be no more gaps that they can infiltrate to further destroy the nation’s next generation. Do not forget to strengthen unity and unity for the sake of the strength of the Republic of Indonesia.
