Choirul Fuadi, Central Kalimantan, CIDISS – On the hot issue about summer and failed harvest of rice in some places of Indonesia, then government of Indonesian republic will import rice. On the other hand, people of District Anjir in the Barito Kuala regency of South Kalimantan province till Kapuas regency in Central Kalimantan province, now they harvest of local rice kind of Unus and got good yield.
The large of Indonesian area, it is very probably to fulfill national rice needing. Such example, in Anjir Trans Kalimantan Kilometer 18, near of border of Barito Kuala district, reported harvest of rice has been harvest during 2 weeks and average, the farmer got good yield.
Like quote in Antara News.com, Sunday (9/8/2015), a farmer from Handil Village, Ahmad Mursin said that average of rice yield in each “Borong” or a landmass of 17 m x 17 m (17 m2) is 9 – 10 Blek (1 Blek is 20 liter).
“Product Rice in this year is good,” said Him.
According to Him, rice harvests do by people using manually stuffs like sickle and pruning using sickle.
By monitoring Media in some district in Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan, Anjir and near of it, the people was started spread out the rice in the sun to dry. They did it in front of their house.
