Of the many media spreading radicalism, social media has the most potential. Therefore, citizens who come from millennial are also encouraged to be able to collaborate to ward off this understanding.
In the past, news sources only came from black and white radio or television. Even then, not everyone has one, maybe there is only one RT that has the item. So that access with the outside world is still relatively difficult. In contrast to now, the rapid development of technology makes anyone able to access all information easily. In fact, all over the world though. But, unfortunately this ease of access is not accompanied by the user’s responsibility.
The use of this unlimited technology is in fact used by certain elements to carry out a number of interventions. Radicalism was spread, propaganda in the name of religion was carried on until the covert agenda was called solidarity. In Indonesia, actually it is not a country that adopts an extremist system. The Indonesian people in accordance with the name pinned, namely the ripah lohjinawi. And has a fairly high tolerance level.
However, why is Indonesia one of the countries with a fairly high percentage of radicalism? Actually do not need a lot of reasons. This radicalism spreads so quickly. Not only directly, now that understanding has evolved to become more recent. Utilization of social media seems to be maximized to indoctrinate people with insights that are lacking. In fact, the millennial now is not far from the name of the gadget and social networking. They should be able to filter out all kinds of information circulating.
Therefore, the role of citizens is very necessary in the fight against radicalism. This mass media is like a source of information that awaits its presence. Thus, the content displayed must be educational, correct and not merely a hoax to raise ratings. Moreover, lately a lot of hoax news with a pretty horrendous narration . If it is not accompanied by extensive knowledge, even ordinary people will immediately believe the news.
Previously, the Head of the Multimedia Bureau (Karo) Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Budi Setiawan revealed that there were campaigns of groups of followers of radicalism and intolerance in the digital era like now, many who use social media or social media.
Various forms of propaganda are scattered in the media, and the most frequently encountered theme is to corner the government that carries the ideology of the caliphate. All sorts of government measures are criticized, deemed lacking, or lacking, but ultimately linking them with distorted ideologies.
According to Brigadier General Budi Budi, said the existence of hatred (hate speech) which was bounced through the forums along with social media whose contents were blasphemy, insults or provocation sourced from hoaxes. As a result, the community becomes angry, afraid and nervous so that it can be easily mobilized for the benefit of the radical group.
Generally, people who have been exposed to hoaxes and expressions of hatred will tend to be racist, radical, intolerant and have high egoism. As a result, if you find people or parties who are not in line or in agreement will be considered opponents, and must be removed.
Sadly, there is no more peace, the article is only hatred that is always present in the heart. Based on this, the National Police also invited the entire community to prevent and fight campaigns that support the Khilafah on various social media. Because this media seems so free to spread hoaxes and also incitement.
Prevention efforts currently underway by the National Police include, among others, conducting cyber patrols, counseling or outreach, training and also campaigning for wise use of the internet. In addition, conducting education and communication activities for social media activists, netizens, ranging from universities, mass media, related institutions, to cellular providers and others.
The implication is that they can play a proactive role in campaigning for anti-hoaxes and maintaining mutual order. Including creating a healthy internet public space. Besides that, the Police are also making efforts to stem the negative content.
It was stated, this step would be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo), as well as the Cyber Agency and the State Code (BSSN). So that cyber patrols can be carried out, and then block and deactivate pro campaign caliphate campaigners and hoax spreaders. Not forgetting law enforcement efforts continue to be made. Namely, by capturing and processing the law of the perpetrators. It is intended that the community will firmly oppose hoaxes, by no longer spreading, continuing or making them.
Not denying the strong flow of information on social media is able to make users dragged along. If you are not careful, chances are that today you will only be a spectator. But tomorrow will become a hoax maker. Let’s fight radicalism from hoaxes that is not useful!
