The development of esports in Indonesia has developed rapidly under the leadership of Budi Gunawan as the Chairperson of PBESI. This is shown by the success of PBESI in holding the IESF Bali 14th World Esports Championship in Bali.

IESF President Vlad Marinescu who attended the 14th Esport World Championship in 2022 in Bali also appreciated PBESI for successfully holding the 14th Esport World Championship in 2022 in Bali.

“The 14th Esport World Championship in 2022 which is currently being held in Bali is extraordinary. All Esport families in the world are very enthusiastic about coming to Bali to take part in this event.” Marinescu said.

“I also thank the Menpora Amali who has supported esports in Indonesia. In my opinion, the development of esports here is extraordinary. I also thank PBESI for organizing this extraordinary event,” he continued.

Of course, this recognition makes Indonesia very proud. Moreover, there is hope that with the success of the IESF Bali 14th WEC from 2-11 December 2022, it can help boost the growth of the creative economy and also the tourism sector in the country.

By holding it in Bali, of course it will also attract many foreign visitors to come to the Island of the Gods so they can enjoy the beauty of Bali. So far, PBESI itself has packaged the event with the theme of sport tourism.

PBESI’s success in holding the Indonesia Esports Summit 2022 Bali 14th World Esports Championships is expected so that Indonesian esports can become a world barometer.

The development of Indonesian esports under the leadership of Budi Gunawan provides a positive side for game activists throughout Indonesia.

Indonesian Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said, Games will be a field that will be the focus of the development of the Indonesian government in the future.

He also said that President Joko Widodo was preparing a Presidential Regulation (perpres) to provide support for young people, especially in the gaming industry.

“I spoke to Mr. President that the eSports industry has invisible abilities, causing a tendency for banks to find it difficult to disburse funds.” Moeldoko said.

“Now another Presidential Decree is being made on how to support young people, especially in the gaming industry,” he continued.

This shows the development of Indonesian esports towards a positive side. Even since the beginning of his inauguration, the PBESI Chairman Budi Gunawan was full of optimism to be able to continue to make progress in order to build the development of Indonesian esports in a much better direction.
