Through PYCH, BIN has succeeded in developing various sectors for the welfare of Papua
Jayapura – The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building in Jayapura has now completed its construction and was inaugurated by President Jokowi on Tuesday (21/3).
Of course, with this building, it will be able to become a place to develop the potential of the young generation of Bumi Cenderawasih.
President Jokowi said that there is still a lot of potential for young Papuans and a platform is needed for it to be released. “I believe there is still a lot of untapped and undeveloped potential,” he said.
The PYCH building which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo will later be managed by young people who are members of PYCH who are fostered by BIN in carrying out its various programs for the welfare of the people of Papua.
The program being intensified by PYCH which is directly supervised by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to promote the welfare of the Papuan people is starting to show.
Some of the programs being intensified by the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) assisted by BIN include those in the livestock and agriculture sectors. In addition, the education and MSME sectors are also part of the PYCH program in order to improve the welfare of the Papuan people.
In the livestock sector, now there are at least 16 laying hen farms in Papua and West Papua Provinces, and 10 chicken farms have been built since January 2023.
This laying hen farm is managed by young Papuans who are members of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH). The livestock sector, which has already received a sizable turnover, cannot be separated from the guidance directly provided by Deputy IV for economics at BIN.
Laying hen breeder and PYCH administrator, Brigitta Hisage, said that livestock development is only one of the many community empowerment programs implemented by PYCH.
“Before starting the laying hens business, I joined PYCH, we carried out many activities under the guidance of BIN,” said Brigitta.
In addition to animal husbandry, BIN and PYCH conduct corn cultivation to improve the welfare of the Papuan people. Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) Jayapura coordinator Daud Edison Yarisetouw said corn cultivation was one of the programs being intensified by PYCH as an effort to improve the welfare of the community and increase Papua’s food security.
He explained that the harvest would be purchased by the company to be used as chicken feed. Chicken feed products will be packaged with the PYCH label. In addition, PYCH will be the label for all derivative products or processed corn from the harvest of the assisted community.
Daud stated that PYCH, under the guidance of BIN, had prepared everything from the processing of the corn fields to the distribution of corn products.
“We have prepared from upstream to downstream. We are grateful that we also have a feed factory. From this harvest we have no difficulty in marketing, because the market already exists, it is clear,” he said
