The National Capital City (IKN) is under construction and the government is optimistic that the process will run smoothly and on time until it is 100% complete. To expedite the development of IKN, the Government continues to anticipate obstacles and disturbances. In this way, the IKN project will run without problems.

The new Indonesian National Capital (IKN) will be built in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan. This development is a mega project so it takes years. The community is very impressed with the IKN concept, which, although it has not been completed, is already amazing. Development has been carried out for years because IKN is a government mega project.

In facilitating the development of IKN, there is anticipation of obstacles and disturbances. Agus Dahlan, Head of Bakesbangpol Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) stated that Bakesbangpol PPU continues to support the infrastructure development of the National Archipelago National Park in Sepaku District by playing a role in maintaining regional security. He continues to communicate with the IKN Authority, the IKN task force and community leaders, because he has to anticipate threats, obstacles and disturbances.

Agus Dahlan continued, IKN is a national program, so even the slightest problem in IKN must be anticipated, because it will be highlighted nationally. Bakesbangpol PPU continues to socialize the transfer of IKN to all levels of society. So far, social organizations (Ormas) fully support the development of IKN in East Kalimantan.

The support from Bakesbangpol Penajam Paser Utara is very good because there is a security guarantee from state apparatus who are local residents of East Kalimantan. With this guarantee, the development will take place smoothly.

There will be no actions, demonstrations or protests at IKN projects. The reason is because apart from guaranteeing security, there is understanding from the indigenous people of North Penajam Paser. They understand that their area is made the national capital because of its strategic position
(in the middle of Indonesia) and the existence of the IKN will be very beneficial for residents in Kalimantan, especially East Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, many mass organizations in PPU have declared their support for the construction of the IKN. The central government needs to anticipate the potential for social friction to occur in Nusantara’s IKN. There are several potentials that can cause social problems, namely related to the acquisition of land belonging to residents who are included in the area of IKN infrastructure development and the absorption of local workers in IKN Nusantara.

Obstacles in land acquisition for IKN are guaranteed to be greatly minimized. President Jokowi stated that there were no obstacles in land acquisition in the North Penajam Paser area and its surroundings (which will be renamed IKN Nusantara). Residents’ land replacement funds have been paid since March 2023.

In a sense, there are no significant obstacles in the development of the Archipelago IKN. The community will not be worried because the IKN project will be completed on time. The local people of IKN freed their land happily because they got a good price, and they are proud to be part of the development of the Indonesian capital.

Another obstacle in the development of IKN Nusantara is the social friction between migrants and the indigenous people of East Kalimantan. To minimize social friction, the indigenous people of Borneo will receive guarantees and will not be marginalized. You do this by holding training for the natives of Kalimantan.

The Governor of East Kalimantan H. Isran Noor appreciated the training held at the zero point of IKN Nusantara. He felt happy and proud because this was the first time that training had been held in his area, which was conducted by the Ministry of Manpower.

The training provided by the ministry is of course very useful for the people of Kalimantan. They can learn to have new skills and become more proficient in technology, because the training is computer-based.

H. Isran Noor added, this training was a form of supporting the country’s economic recovery. This means that the state has started to prepare competent human resources or workforce in various fields, who are truly competent. The competency-based training needed by companies, in order to support the development of IKN. The prospect of being absorbed in the company is also great.

In a sense, the government wants the indigenous people of Kalimantan, especially East Kalimantan, to increase their self-competence. If you already have good skills and knowledge, you will be able to be absorbed into various new companies in IKN Nusantara. They can be employees and have a decent salary.

If there is training that targets the local people of Kalimantan, it will dispel the notion that moving the capital is a subtle expulsion for them. Local people from the Dayak, Banjar and other tribes will continue to live in IKN and its surroundings. They can work because they have acquired skills, after attending training organized by the Ministry of Manpower.

The government has anticipated various obstacles and disturbances that could come in the development of the Archipelago IKN. The IKN project is very large and all obstacles will be removed. The community also supports the construction of the IKN and no one holds a demonstration against it, because they are aware that the existence of a capital city in Kalimantan will be very useful for their lives in the future.
