The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) and the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) as the committee of the ASEAN Summit asked the people of Labuan Bajo to provide services and offer the best products to delegates attending the ASEAN Summit in May 2023. The ASEAN Summit was held in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on 9-11 May 2023.
Main Director of the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority Executing Agency (BPOLBF) Shana Fatina stated that the people of Labuan Bajo when holding the 2023 ASEAN Summit, are obliged to show the best service and offer the best products.
Shana added, there are three things that must be the concern of the host during the implementation of the ASEAN Summit. First, maintain the privacy of the delegation by not taking photos without permission so as not to set a price that is more than the standard price or a price tag. The public is also encouraged to discuss things that are necessary because not all of them (guest delegates from the Summit) like to chat.
The two Labuan Bajo people must maintain cleanliness. In terms of hygiene, what is emphasized is how to improve hygiene standards in all travel papers or areas that interact with delegates to the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
Third, specifically for the drivers who will pick up the delegation to give the delegation a sense of security and comfort. Safety riding must be prioritized for the safety of guests at the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
The committee’s appeal will be remembered and carried out by the people of Labuan Bajo. They promised to sell food, souvenirs and other goods at the 2023 ASEAN Summit at reasonable prices. There would be no case of an extreme price increase and shock the guests of the delegation.

If Labuan Bajo’s nature and tourism are highlighted by international media, the place will become more popular and it is hoped that foreign tourist visits will also increase. They will travel there because they watch the coverage, both on television and on the YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, the police will take firm action against the perpetrators of hoarding and “price-setting” food during the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
NTT Regional Police Chief Inspector General Johni Asadoma said the National Police already had a Food Task Force to monitor food prices and availability in the community. The Food Task Force is tasked with monitoring food prices in the community. If food prices are too high beyond the prices set by the government, action will be taken.
The decisive action taken by the Police is highly supported by the community. There should be no violations so that the guests of the ASEAN Summit delegation feel that Indonesian citizens are acting arbitrarily towards tourists.
The people of Labuan Bajo are asked to be orderly during the 2023 ASEAN Summit. They must comply with regulations, including keeping the environment clean, maintaining safety ( safety riding ), and avoiding selling goods at unfair prices.
