The community fully supports the ratification of the Health Bill because in it, all of these regulations are very pro-public, that is, they will be able to bring about an increase in health services and also the quality of health for the community, even to the point that it will be on par with the international level.
The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) will ratify the Health Bill (RUU) at the DPR Plenary Meeting which will be held on Tuesday 11 July 2023. The ratification is based on the results of a consultation meeting to replace the Deliberative Body Meeting (Bamus) which was held on last July 5, 2023.
Regarding the ratification, the Head of the Expertise Body (BK) of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI, Inosentius Samsul explained that all of this was in accordance with the mechanisms and pathways that have been regulated. The reason is, the DPR RI itself has a strong commitment to be able to pass the Health Bill even before the closing of the trial period.
Previously, Deputy Chairperson of Commission IX of the DPR, Melkiades Laka Lena herself had also emphasized that there were absolutely no fundamental problems that could make the Health Bill (RUU) not passed at the DPR Plenary Meeting because so far the problems were purely technical.
The reason is, even the leaders of the DPR RI themselves have absolutely no problem with the content and substance contained in the Health Bill because it is considered and considered to be very appropriate and in favor of many parties, starting from the health workers themselves to the community.
The Health Bill Monitoring Team stated that the Health Draft Law (RUU) was indeed a set of rules that had been very in favor of all the people in Indonesia. It’s not just having alignments with the people, but the regulation is also able to open up investment opportunities in hospitals.
So, with the opening of investment opportunities in the hospital which was carried out thanks to the Health Bill, in the future it will certainly bring a much better quality service in the hospital, even if it is not half-hearted, the quality of the services that will be provided will also be very equal with international level.
All of these things, of course, are none other than for the benefit of society and the people of Indonesia. So that in the future those who really want to find qualified health services, they no longer need to come far abroad, because everything is ready and ready in Indonesia itself.
Then, with the existence of the Health Bill, this also includes paying attention to Hospitals (RS) in special economic areas, which are in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) with the aim that all hospitals can increase their services and market share, namely for people Indonesia who usually seek treatment abroad.
Of course, there are great hopes for the existence of a Health Bill that will be able to open up opportunities and an investment climate for these hospitals so that it will help improve the quality of services at the Hospital. Water as their reference.
When this happens, that is, people from other countries glance at Indonesia and judge that the country does indeed have quality and very qualified health services, it will also have an impact on increasing income for the country.
Healthy competition will also occur, whether it’s between hospitals in Indonesia, or between health workers. Because it enables health workers such as local doctors to work at KEK Hospitals, local health facilities will also be able to compete in a healthy manner with service innovations and increasing salary standards for local doctors.
The Health Bill also strengthens the role of medical councils and health workers, while guaranteeing their independence. Of course by involving the government which is the regulator. When this role is strengthened, the position of medical councils themselves is not as vulnerable as before to be used for the benefit of only a handful of elite professional organizations.
According to the Health Bill Guard Team, professional organizations are responsible for the shortage of health workers, especially specialist doctors. As a result of the recommendation authority which often hampers the specialist doctor’s adaptation process, the nation’s children graduated from foreign countries can practice in Indonesia and hinder the practice of other doctors.
The alignment contained in the content or substance of the Health Bill is actually very clear, that is, this regulation is very in favor of all people and the public in Indonesia because it will be able to guarantee and open up investment opportunities for hospitals, so that later there will be an increase in the quality of health services for the public too.
