Government Ensures All Infrastructure Facilities Are Ready Ahead of the 43rd ASEAN Summit
Jakarta – Minister of Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said, the Ministry of PUPR is ready to provide full support in holding the 43rd ASEAN Summit through the provision of infrastructure. The arrangement and renovation of infrastructure facilities in the JCC area are mainly in preparation for the implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit on 5-7 September 2023.
The rehabilitation of JCC has been carried out by the Ministry of PUPR through the Jakarta Metro Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW), Directorate General of Cipta Karya since June 12 2023 with an implementation period of 105 days.
The cost for handling JCC comes from the State Budget in the amount of IDR 115.88 billion with the construction progress being closely monitored and the results continuously being evaluated.
The JCC rehabilitation work consists of 4 Zones, namely Zone 1 (Lower Ground) covering the architectural work of Kasuari Lounge, Merak Room, Nuri Room, Maleo Room, Kenari Room, Kakatua Room, Lower Lobby Pre Function, Summit Room, Summit Lounge, walkway (to Sultan Hotel), prayer room and toilets.
Zone 2 (Ground Floor) consists of architectural work on the Assembly Hall, Main Lobby, Cendrawasih Hall and Corridor, Prefunction Hall A, as well as the VIP Room and toilet (Cendrawasih). Zone 3 (Ground) consists of handling the plenary hall and corridors as well as the president’s area, the progress of which continues to be closely monitored.
Finally, Zone 4 (Ground) takes the form of canopy installation, drop off arrangement, front garden, side garden, toilets and outdoor prayer room.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Human Settlements of the PUPR Ministry Diana Kusumastuti said, the rehabilitation of JCC has a main design concept by adopting elements of Indonesian culture that can reflect the character and identity of the Indonesian nation.
“We added instruments that depict Indonesia’s diversity, for example added synthetic rattan dressing, padded walls and carpets,” said Diana Kusumastuti.
Apart from the JCC building area, the PUPR Ministry through the DKI Jakarta-West Java National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) since July 31 2023 has also supported increasing connectivity through road preservation work in the 4.67 km Gelora Bung Karno area. The cost of this minor rehabilitation is IDR 29.32 with the current construction progress still ongoing until it is according to the existing plan.
