Media People Play an Important Role in Making the World Water Forum in Bali a Success

Jakarta – After the success of the G-20 event, the ASEAN Summit and the 2023 AIS Summit, the mass media is currently highlighting an international event that discusses global water issues, namely the 10th World Water Forum in Bali on 18-25 May 2024.

Director General of Public Information and Communication (Dirjen IKP Kominfo), Usman Kansong, said that to support facilities for journalists in making the World Water Forum a success, the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo) has prepared a Media Center that can accommodate up to a thousand domestic and foreign journalists.

“The 2024 World Water Forum Media Center at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) has a capacity of 1000 journalists.” Usman said.

Usman also said that the Media Center has various facilities to support the work of journalists covering the 10th World Water Forum, such as fast internet provided by various cellular operators. So that journalists can work comfortably in contributing to the success of the World Water Forum.

“An internet provider (in the 10th WWF) is an operator. “We (Kominfo) have consolidated, and in Bali the infrastructure is good in supporting the performance of media friends,” explained Usman Kansong.

According to Usman Kansong, during the World Water Forum, 5G networks will be available in a number of areas, including around the event location, such as the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) and the Bali International Convention Center (BICC).

“The 5G network will definitely be faster. “So this will help the participants in communicating, and also help the media in sending news, in sending videos and pictures,” he said.

Indonesia is already known in the eyes of the world for its success in holding international events. Not only implementation design, but also breakthroughs in finding solutions to various challenges and problems faced by world countries.

Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, said that his party had collaborated with various cellular operators to facilitate and support the performance of journalists in reporting to support the success of the 10th World Water Forum.

“During the 10th World Water Forum, Kominfo has consolidated all cellular operators operating in Indonesia such as XL Axiata, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Smartfren to Telkomsel. “Because telecommunications infrastructure is very important considering that the event is attended by various countries,” said Minister of Communication and Information Budi.

As is known, the World Water Forum itself is the largest cross-border forum in the world which focuses on discussing water issues and finding global solutions as answers to these issues.

Furthermore, media personnel are expected to participate in conveying positive information to the public, as well as contributing to the smooth running of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali.
