He emphasized that Indonesia’s appointment as host of the 2024 World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali is clear evidence of world confidence in Indonesia’s ability to manage water resources.

“Indonesia is very fortunate to host WWF in Bali, because it is believed to be a pioneer in the water management movement in the world,” said Hendra to the media in Jakarta, Wednesday (16 May 2024).

Hendra, who also serves as Secretary of the Study Program at UNAS, revealed that in the last two years, Indonesia has hosted various world-class events.

“The eyes of the world are focused on Indonesia. “In the last two years, Indonesia has been trusted to hold strategic events attended by many heads of state,” he added.

The 10th World Water Forum will be held in Bali on 18-24 May 2024. According to Hendra, this forum provides an opportunity for Indonesia to demonstrate its ability to manage clean water and strengthen its position on the international stage.

Previously, Professor at the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Murodi, M.Ag, added that WWF 2024 is the right event to address the problem of providing clean water for all living things.

“Water is a primary necessity for daily life. “Through this forum, it is hoped that people will become more aware of the importance of maintaining the availability of clean water,” explained Prof. Murody.

He hopes that this forum can produce constructive discussions about maintaining clean water, both for Indonesia and the world. “The hope is that the World Water Forum will produce solutions that are beneficial for the survival of humanity,” he added.

On the other hand, Professor at the Faculty of Law, National Education University (Undiknas) Denpasar, Prof. I Nyoman Budiana, highlighted the importance of the synergy of state institutions in maintaining security during the event. “Security forces, TNI, Polri, BNPT and intelligence are working together to overcome security problems in Bali,” said Nyoman.

Nyoman also appreciated the role of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) in securing the event. “The presence of BNPT is important to coordinate law enforcement officials and mitigate potential acts of terrorism,” he said.

Furthermore, Nyoman Budiana is confident that the 10th WWF will take place safely and smoothly with the support of local security, including pecalang. “Local Balinese wisdom will help ensure the event runs calmly and successfully,” he said.

Nyoman hopes that WWF 2024 can provide important lessons for the Balinese people about water conservation. “The community must continue to save and protect water resources,” he added.
