Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy believes the 10th WWF will provide economic benefits
Bali – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno revealed that the potential spending of delegates at the 10th World Water Forum or WWF reached IDR 1.7 trillion. According to him, this figure was calculated during the WWF event.
“We expect these results over the next six days until May 25 2024,” said Sandiaga Uno at the 10th WWF Media Center.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga explained that the calculation was obtained by multiplying the total number of participants which was predicted to reach 50 thousand people by multiplying the average expenditure on shopping which reached IDR 34 million.
Furthermore, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga explained that the Government continues to strive to empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including by taking advantage of the momentum of the 10th WWF.
In the 10th WWF, he added, the government involved as many as 500 MSMEs who displayed their products, spread across three locations during the 10th World Water Forum.
According to Sandiaga, the exhibition locations for MSME products are spread across several locations. Such as the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), the Kuta area and the Bali Collection Nusa Dua.
Furthermore, Sandiaga explained that the MSME products displayed had gone through a strict curation process. Mainly related to environmentally friendly production and waste management.
A number of products on display include fashion and crafts. Not only that, there are also local games which are expected to encourage low-carbon tourism.
“There is a local gaming activity, namely Lokapala, which raises the vision of sustainability with the main character Baruna, this will encourage low-carbon tourism,” he continued.
The Deputy for Tourism Products and Activities Organizer of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Vinsensius Jemadu, expressed the same thing. According to him, it is hoped that the involvement of MSMEs can increase their market.
