Students from various regional, ethnic, religious, racial, cultural and linguistic backgrounds in various regions of Indonesia, get many golden opportunities to be able to obtain facilities from the Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) which was pioneered by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). The existence of this program also needs to receive appreciation from many parties, as a form of the Government’s commitment through BIN and other agencies in producing a superior generation.
AMN provides great benefits for the younger generation. The many facilities from AMN are indeed an effort and a very strong commitment from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) to provide free education to the entire young generation of the nation’s future generations.
The development of AMN is also a very important strategic step in supporting higher education in Indonesia. This dormitory not only provides a decent place to live for students, but also provides various benefits that support students’ academic, social and character development.

Not only that, AMN development also received support from universities, one of which was Sam Ratulangi University in Manado. In this case, Unsrat has provided tens of hectares of land for developing student skills such as animal husbandry, agriculture and fisheries for students who are members of the AMN program.
For your information, AMN itself was established based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 106 of 2021 concerning Archipelago Student Dormitories which aims to build a sense of love for the nation and state among young people from various universities throughout the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
Not only that, but AMN’s goal is also to be able to prepare human resources (HR) that are quality, have integrity and also have a strong national character.
Apart from being a residence, the Nusantara Student Dormitory is also a place to carry out national development for its student residents, where this training takes place by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) together with stakeholders or other stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Research and Technology).
BIN itself is an institution led by Police General (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, SH, M.Sc., Ph.D., PSM, who is tasked with maintaining national security and resilience. Therefore, it is their duty to provide guidance to AMN students, especially so that they can have superior competitiveness and national insight as well as a patriot mentality to answer the challenges ahead and achieve success in the nation’s progress.
Director of Strategic Infrastructure, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Ir. Essy Asiah revealed that the construction of the Nusantara Student Dormitory continues with very positive progress.
The government even continues to ensure and encourage contractors to ensure that construction progress continues by making work checklists every week and calculating the needs of workers in each building.
The existence of AMN in Manado is a continuation of the success of the government through BIN in building the same student dormitory building in the City of Heroes, Surabaya.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chancellor I for Academic Affairs Unsrat Manado, Prof. Dr. Ir. Grevo Soleman Gerung provided full support for the realization of AMN Manado. He even admitted that he was very ready to provide support.
On the other hand, the Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Chair of the Steering Committee of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Antonius Benny Susetyo or Father Benny also spoke. According to him, the existence of the Nusantara Student Dormitory is very suitable to be the best cadre formation place for the nation’s future leaders.
The construction of AMN Manado has been ideal so far, because in the future it will not only be students from certain groups who will be able and have the opportunity to occupy the dormitory building, but actually all young people from all corners of the archipelago.
Appreciation and feelings of optimism continue to come in line with the positive progress that AMN Manado has made, because it is one of the programs to produce a superior young generation but on the other hand remains inclusive.
This is because currently, to be able to develop Indonesia, which in fact has very high diversity with a variety of societal backgrounds, of course collaboration through education that is characterized by inclusiveness is very important.
Because with inclusive education, it is not impossible to make the quality of young human resources in Indonesia have a strong national character, integrity and excellence.
All students from various different backgrounds, from differences in higher education, language, customs, culture, race to religion and ethnicity, have the same opportunity to get quality education but for free through the AMN Manado program.
