CIDISS – The film lovers in Indonesia needs to have proud, by the election of the nation’s children works short film entitled “5:55” as one of the winners in the Global Short Film Awards. Global Short Film Awards held in New York.

A short film entitled 05:55 works of Yogyakarta’s Independent Film Community Montage shows as the winner in the category of GSF 2016 Awards Best Cinematography, Said Acting Consul General of New York, Benny YP Siahaan, as quoted in Antara News Kalteng.

A film by Tiara Kristiningtyas and Mohammad Azri tells the story about the time before the earthquake in Yogyakarta 2006. The earthquake had been destroyed almost most of the buildings in Yogyakarta and cause thousands of casualties. The film has already won several times at various Film festivals in this country, are shown with a black and white format and without any dialogue at all.

However, a wide angle shooting capable of recording strong portrait of a changing society daily 160 degrees when the earthquake ravaged joints of their lives. The power of cinematography film is able to beat finalists from 56 countries.

Global Short Film Awards 2016 held at Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas-260 West 23rd Street, New York. The occasion was attended by local visitor film lovers, as well as representatives of the CONSULATE GENERAL in New York as a form of support for the film Indonesia.

Various positive responses came from the visitors. The winners of the Global Short Film Awards 2016 New York from various categories will be invited in the Cannes Film Festival 2016, 21 may 2016 in Cannes and will officially carried out official awards presentation and attend various gala dinner.
