Jakarta – Indonesia – The 2nd Pacific Parliamentary Partnership (IPPP) officially closed on July 25 2024 and succeeded in gathering parliamentary delegations from Pacific countries to discuss and collaborate on various important issues. One of the main achievements of this forum is a shared commitment to maintaining stability in the Pacific region.
The Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, in her closing speech, emphasized the importance of cooperation between countries to ensure regional stability.
“The stability of the Pacific region is the key to achieving shared prosperity and in this 2nd IPPP, we have discussed in depth the various challenges facing this region and agreed on concrete steps to overcome them. “Our commitment to working together to maintain stability is the foundation for a better future for all countries in the region,” said Puan Maharani.
Puan Maharani also highlighted several important achievements from this forum, including strengthening security, economic and environmental cooperation.
“We have reached various agreements that will strengthen cooperation in the fields of security, economy and environment. “From developing a sustainable blue economy to increasing food security and tackling climate change, the 2nd IPPP has set out a clear action plan for our future,” he continued.
In the context of maintaining stability, Puan Maharani emphasized the need for a collective and inclusive approach.
“Regional stability cannot be achieved individually by one country alone. It requires joint efforts and solidarity between countries. “We at the DPR RI are committed to supporting every initiative that can strengthen the stability and prosperity of the Pacific region,” emphasized Puan Maharani
DPR Chair Puan Maharani also expressed her appreciation to all parties who had contributed to the success of the 2nd IPPP.
“I would like to thank all participants, committee members and partners who have worked hard to make this forum a success. “The 2nd IPPP is not only about discussions, but also about real actions that we will take together in the future,” concluded Puan Maharani.
The 2nd IPPP has resulted in various agreements and action plans that will form the basis for further cooperation among Pacific countries, he said.
“With a shared commitment to maintaining regional stability, it is hoped that relations between countries will become closer and be able to face global challenges together,” concluded Puan.
