Jakarta, – Reflecting on the success of the Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) in 2023, this year, Indonesia is ready to hold the ISF again but on a larger scale.

Together with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), the ISF, which has now transformed into the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF), is planned to be held on September 5-6, 2024.

The event, which will be held in Jakarta, will be the largest sustainability conference in Indonesia and even globally. This event will bring together policy makers, experts, and investors from all over the world to build partnerships in the field of sustainability in order to accelerate the growth of the world’s green economy.

“The success of the Indonesia Sustainability Forum last year shows how concrete Indonesia’s opportunities are in leading and promoting fundamental global initiatives and collaborations to achieve fair and equal opportunities for countries to implement decarbonization,” said Deputy Coordinator of Transportation and Infrastructure of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin.

To maintain this momentum, Deputy Rahmat explained, this year a similar forum was held and transformed into the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024.

“Hopefully, this name transformation will further strengthen ISF’s position as an international forum for sustainable growth and climate that is influential in the global order,” added Deputy Rachmat.

Not only that, ISF 2024 will also be a real action of collaboration between developed and developing countries in overcoming the climate crisis. ISF is expected to produce solutions that support the implementation of financial and non-financial levers (technology, human resources, policies and international collaboration) which are the key to accelerating the realization of sustainable growth.

For this reason, ISF 2024 will focus on 5 pillars of discussion, namely green economy, energy transition, nature conservation and biodiversity, sustainable living and marine economy (Blue Economy).

Likewise, Deputy Chairperson (WKU) Coordinator for Maritime Affairs, Investment, and Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, stated that the 2024 ISF is also a forum for Indonesia to demonstrate Indonesia’s strategic position in efforts to encourage sustainable green economic growth.

“Global leadership as an economic power in Indonesia has great potential, supported by the existence of abundant resources, ranging from critical minerals such as nickel and tin, to vast tropical forests, thus strategically positioning Indonesia to become a regional and world leader in accelerating sustainable economic practices in an effort to encourage economic growth,” said WKU Shinta.
