ISF 2024 Opening Momentum to Strengthen Global Commitment Towards a Sustainable Future
JAKARTA — The start of the International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 is a sign of strengthening the global shared commitment towards a more sustainable future.
The opening of ISF 2024 marks a significant step towards a sustainable world future. The forum, held in Jakarta, will take place from September 5-6, 2024.
In addition, ISF 2024 is also real evidence of the strengthening of the international community’s commitment to jointly face increasingly pressing environmental challenges.
According to the Deputy Coordinator for Maritime Affairs, Investment and Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, ISF 2024 can produce a strategic solution to answer world challenges.
The event brought together various stakeholders such as those in the global energy transition sector, thereby enabling the implementation of sustainable business practices, especially in terms of funding.
“ISF 2024 is an important opportunity to strengthen the collective commitment of the business world as a key driver in mobilizing green funding,” he said.
“There will be concrete outcomes, including collaborative initiatives to bridge the sustainable funding gap, as well as opportunities for domestic industries to showcase their sustainable and environmentally friendly projects to global stakeholders and investors,” Shinta said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has high hopes for ISF 2024 which will be able to produce many agreements.
“I am confident that this year’s ISF will be a platform that facilitates international collaboration to increase access to green finance, as well as a knowledge sharing process to improve the capabilities of human resources who are ready to embrace the Net Zero future,” he said.
“This forum will also be an inclusive sustainability forum for all levels of society,” added Luhut.
Likewise, the Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination, Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin, assessed that ISF 2024 is one proof of Indonesia’s strong commitment to prioritizing the spirit of collaboration in fair climate solutions.
“ISF is one proof of Indonesia’s commitment to prioritizing the spirit of collaboration in formulating equitable climate solutions based on the principle of mutual respect,” said Rachmat.
“Forums like ISF are very important because the world needs a platform to realize action and innovation,” he added.
