ISF 2024 Provides Strategic Opportunity for ASEAN and the World to Drive Decarbonization

JAKARTA — The International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 provides a strategic opportunity for ASEAN countries and the world to encourage decarbonization efforts.

This forum serves as a platform to discuss innovations in clean energy transitions and carbon emission reductions.

ISF 2024 involves various parties, including the government and private sector, who collaborate in formulating sustainable policies and initiatives.

With a focus on the future of the green economy, the forum is expected to spark a global transformation towards more environmentally friendly development.

Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves), Rachmat Kaimuddin, emphasized the importance of international collaboration to achieve decarbonization targets.

“ISF 2024 is a strategic platform to strengthen our shared commitment to reducing carbon emissions. We believe that with solid cooperation, ASEAN can play a key role in creating a greener and more sustainable future,” he said.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, also emphasized the Indonesian government’s full support for decarbonization initiatives.

“Indonesia is committed to reducing carbon emissions and supporting the clean energy transition. ISF 2024 is an important moment to strengthen strategies and policies that support global efforts to protect our earth,” he said.

Shinta W. Kamdani, Deputy Chairperson for Maritime Affairs, Investment, and Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, shared her views on the role of the private sector in decarbonization efforts.

“The private sector has a big responsibility in implementing environmentally friendly technologies and practices,” he said.

“ISF 2024 provides a platform to share knowledge and encourage innovation that can accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy,” added Shinta.

One of the highlights was the signing of the memorandum of understanding and the statement of interest.

Then on the second day, the forum discussed a number of important issues such as Biodiversity conservation, Blue Halo S, Quality Tourism and mangrove conservation.

Discussions on these issues can contribute to the promotion of sustainability in the ASEAN region.

The ISF 2024 event is expected to be an important momentum in the global shift towards more effective and sustainable decarbonization.

With active participation from the government, private sector, and international community, it is hoped that the innovative solutions produced during this festival can be widely implemented to address the challenges of climate change.
