In an effort to support President Joko Widodo’s vision regarding the development of entrepreneurship and local innovation, the Young Acehnese Superior and Great (AMANAH) has once again demonstrated its commitment through a training program for derivative embroidery products. In collaboration with Yuyun Bordir, AMANAH focuses on empowering local artisans in Aceh, particularly in enhancing skills and innovation in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises sector. (UMKM).

This embroidery derivative product training program not only provides technical skills in the field of embroidery but also features professional designers who accompany artisans in creating new products, such as coin purses, embroidered shirts, and tote bags. This step aims to enhance the market value and competitiveness of local Aceh products, in line with President Jokowi’s vision that emphasizes the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship to drive the regional economy.

The owner of Yuyun Bordir, Yuyun, expressed her enthusiasm for this program, as every time she collaborates with AMANAH, the results always bring new innovations that have never existed before. This program helps border artisans create innovative products that are ready to compete in a broader market.

The collaboration between AMANAH and Yuyun Bordir is a tangible manifestation of AMANAH’s mission to support the creative economy in Aceh, in line with President Jokowi’s directive to promote local economic development through innovation. With the support and training provided by AMANAH, local artisans can strengthen their entrepreneurial skills, open up more business opportunities, and expand their market networks.

In addition, Yuyun hopes that AMANAH will remain consistent in supporting MSMEs in Aceh. It is hoped that AMANAH will continue to assist MSMEs in Aceh to grow, as programs like this are very helpful for artisans to create more innovative products with high competitiveness.

On the other hand, AMANAH continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting local entrepreneurship and innovation in Aceh, this time through a batik creation training held at Rumoh Batik Malaka, Aceh Besar District. This training was attended by various groups, ranging from batik artisans to students from Syiah Kuala University (USK) in Banda Aceh, reflecting a cross-generational collaboration in preserving and developing Acehnese batik culture. One of the participants, Qurratun Aini from Sanggar Ceudah Rupa, shared her experience in learning natural dyeing techniques and creating traditional motifs that she developed during the training. Qurratun emphasizes the importance of innovation within tradition, creating a more practical ‘banana heart’ motif for the canting technique.
This batik creation program also introduces participants to the batik stamping technique, where the designs used are the results of an online batik design competition held by AMANAH. In addition, natural dyeing has become the main focus of the training, providing artisans with the opportunity to explore more sustainable and environmentally friendly methods in producing batik. This is in line with efforts to modernize the batik industry without losing its traditional values.

This batik creation training demonstrates AMANAH’s commitment to strengthening the creative economy ecosystem in Aceh, emphasizing the importance of innovation combined with cultural heritage. Through this approach, AMANAH encourages artisans and the younger generation to harness their creativity in developing local products that have added value and higher competitiveness.

The collaboration between AMANAH and local artisans also reflects the significant potential of SMEs in Aceh to grow and develop. This training program for derivative embroidery products and batik training is just a few of the many initiatives by AMANAH designed to strengthen local economic capabilities.

In the context of President Jokowi’s vision, which emphasizes the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship to build a resilient regional economy, this training serves as a concrete example of implementation on the ground. President Jokowi has long been advocating for the development of the creative economy as one of the key sectors capable of driving the economy at the local level. By providing opportunities for young Acehnese artisans to innovate, AMANAH contributes to realizing this vision.

In addition to creating new and more innovative products, training programs like this also help local artisans access a broader market, both nationally and internationally. This not only contributes to the economic development of the region but also gives local artisans the opportunity to become more recognized on the global stage.

Through the initiative to collaborate with these artisans, AMANAH hopes that artisans and the younger generation in Aceh can continue to develop their skills and create local products that can compete in a broader market. Innovation combined with local culture is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Aceh’s products, while also contributing to the growth of the creative economy in Indonesia, in line with the government’s grand vision.

With consistency in supporting MSMEs and local artisans, AMANAH not only serves as a driver of innovation in Aceh but also stands as one of the important pillars in advancing the national creative economy, in line with the innovation-based economic development policies promoted by President Jokowi.
