One Decade of President Jokowi, Infrastructure Development is Evenly Distributed in All Corners of Indonesia
JAKARTA — During the decade of President Joko Widodo’s leadership, Indonesia has recorded significant progress in infrastructure development that is evenly distributed throughout Indonesia.
Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, emphasized that in the decade of President Jokowi’s leadership, infrastructure development was so massive that it had an impact on economic growth.
“This massive infrastructure development has had a huge impact on our economic growth over the past decade,” he said in one of the discussion events on Friday (4/10).
Equalization continues to occur, continued Susiwijono, that during the era of the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, there were already 15 Special Economic Zones (KEK) operating even outside Java.
So with the large number of SEZs, it will be able to encourage the development of new economic sources even in 3T and border areas.
“Currently, of the 22 SEZs that are operating, 15 are also outside Java, as well as several 3T areas, the government continues to encourage the development of new economic sources in border areas,” explained the Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
He also hopes that the infrastructure development initiated by President Jokowi will be continued by the Prabowo-Gibran Government.
On the same occasion, Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (FEB UI), Telisa Aulia Falianty expressed her appreciation to President Joko Widodo because he considered that the Head of State had created an extraordinary legacy.
In fact, this academic considers that President Jokowi is the Father of Indonesian Infrastructure.
“We appreciate Pak Jokowi that he is the father of Indonesian infrastructure because he left an extraordinary legacy,” he said.
Furthermore, the FEB UI Professor believes that the basic needs of people in remote areas of the country are being met and price stability is being maintained due to massive infrastructure development.
“All of the community’s basic needs continue to be supplied and encouraged by improving connectivity, including village roads, so that community needs can be met properly, prices are stable,” he said.
Since the beginning of his term of office in 2014, President Jokowi has focused on accelerating the development of various strategic projects such as toll roads, ports, airports and public transportation. One of his greatest achievements was the construction of the Trans Java toll road to the Trans Papua toll road.
