President Prabowo’s Strong Commitment to the Astacita Program in Eradicating Drugs
Jakarta – The government through the Astacita Program initiated by President Prabowo has shown a serious commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in Indonesia. This step has been welcomed by various parties, who consider that drug eradication is a priority to protect the younger generation and create a healthy and productive society.
The Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, emphasized the importance of eradicating drugs as one of the steps to support the Astacita mission initiated by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
This mission emphasizes strengthening political and legal reforms, as well as preventing and eradicating corruption and narcotics, as part of efforts to create a safe and prosperous society.
The Chief of Police asked all his staff, from the Headquarters to the Resort Police, to map out drug entry routes and take firm legal action against various smuggling methods, including those controlled from within correctional institutions.
“Map the entry routes of drugs which have become very disturbing and have caused capital outflow,” said Sigit.
Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency Marthinus Hukom, said that efforts to prevent and eradicate narcotics are one of the national priorities in line with the Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, namely strengthening political, legal and bureaucratic reforms, as well as preventing and eradicating corruption and narcotics.
“To realize this, it is necessary to increase intelligence strength and one of the efforts we are making is to strengthen cooperation by signing an MoU with telecommunications service providers,” added BNN Head Marthinus.
Furthermore, the Head of BNN RI said that in the current digital era, collaborating with telecommunications service providers is a very strategic collaboration. According to him, technology has a vital role in detecting and tracing information related to narcotics crimes.
“We live in a digital era where technology makes it easier for us to get information in seconds. Cooperation with telecommunications service providers is very important to support our efforts in exposing and eradicating drug crimes,” said BNN Chief Marthinus.
In line with this, Network Director of PT Telekomunikasi Seluler, Indra Mardiatna, said that communication data has great potential in supporting the eradication of narcotics to the roots. Representing telecommunications service providers, he stated that he is ready to support BNN in this effort and is grateful for the trust that has been given.
“We are committed to continue supporting BNN in combating narcotics. This cooperation is not only beneficial for national security, but also to support Indonesia in achieving the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045,” said Indra Mardiatna.
Through a comprehensive approach that combines aspects of security, education, and strict law enforcement, this program is expected to be able to realize Indonesia’s ideals as a country free from drugs, in line with President Prabowo’s grand vision through Astacita.
