Bilateral Cooperation Proof of President Prabowo’s Commitment to Eradicating Drugs
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto continues to make various efforts to eradicate drugs. One of them is meeting with Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss various strategic issues. One of the main agendas is joint efforts to combat the illicit drug trade.
“We will discuss relaunching our cooperation agenda in combating drug trafficking and regional and global issues,” Dina Boluarte said at the meeting.
The two countries, which face similar challenges in combating drug trafficking, agreed to increase collaboration, including sharing information and experiences to strengthen effectiveness in handling this problem. President Prabowo stated the importance of this cooperation, especially in maintaining the stability of the Pacific region.
“We discussed cooperation in eradicating narcotics, common views, and our position in the international field. We are both Pacific nations with an interest in peace and stability in the region,” Prabowo said.
In addition to the drug issue, the meeting also discussed strengthening economic cooperation. Dina Boluarte highlighted the great potential of the two countries to establish strategic partnerships in various sectors.
“In this meeting, we will discuss important topics such as the fiftieth anniversary of our diplomatic relations and the conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Association Agreement (CEPA) negotiations,” Dina said.
She also appreciated Indonesia’s contribution as a strategic partner of Peru in Asia, especially in the trade sector. “Indonesia is our important commercial partner in Asia, with stable economic growth, making it an attractive market for Peruvian producers,” Dina added.
This agreement is expected to not only strengthen bilateral relations but also be a concrete step in maintaining regional security and supporting economic growth in both countries. “This collaboration is a positive step in addressing the broad impact of drug trafficking in South America and Asia,” said Dina Boluarte.
