Economic equality has become one of the main goals that the government has wanted to achieve in the last few decades. One of the major efforts being undertaken is the construction of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan. This project is not only intended to move the center of government, but also as a strategy to create a balance of development between the western and eastern regions of Indonesia.

The Head of the Indonesian Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that the IKN development project provides a large investment opportunity for the private sector. President Prabowo Subianto also has a vision that the IKN development can be completed within 3-4 years. In an effort to accelerate this, the government is opening up opportunities for private investors to participate in various development sectors, from infrastructure, energy, to public facilities. Basuki emphasized that the involvement of the private sector will accelerate the realization of this project and ensure that every aspect of development can be completed with high standards within the targeted time frame.

The involvement of private investors is expected to support the development of key facilities, such as offices, housing, health facilities, and transportation infrastructure. This will not only help accelerate the development of the IKN, but will also create a conducive environment for the economic growth of East Kalimantan as a whole. This investment is also considered a step in line with the grand vision of national economic equality. The IKN is not only a new center of government, but also a new center of economic growth that will create a long-term impact on Indonesia.

The development of the IKN is not only a national project, but also a driving force for the regional economy. Politician and Academic from East Kalimantan, Isran Noor, said that the investment of Rp35 trillion is expected to create new jobs, improve infrastructure, and attract more investment from the private sector. Thus, the local community will feel the positive impact of this development through improved quality of life and wider job opportunities.

Not only limited to physical development, this investment also opens up opportunities for the education sector, training, and skills development for local residents to adapt to the new economic needs in the region. In a broader context, the economic growth generated by this project will help strengthen the industrial sector in East Kalimantan, from the fisheries industry to the manufacturing and tourism sectors. This will certainly create new sources of income for the local community.

Isran Noor added that the IKN is a great opportunity for East Kalimantan to take part in sustainable economic development. Adequate infrastructure development will attract more investors, which in turn will accelerate the economic growth of this region which is not only a benefit for the IKN or East Kalimantan, but also brings benefits to Indonesia as a whole. With better infrastructure, connectivity between regions in East Kalimantan will increase, thus facilitating the movement of goods, services, and people.

East Kalimantan DPRD member, Muhammad Husni Fahruddin, expressed his appreciation for the central government’s commitment to continuing this strategic project. According to him, the support provided by the central government shows that the IKN is not a project that will only benefit certain parties, but is a long-term investment for all Indonesian people. Although in his inauguration speech, President Prabowo Subianto did not mention the IKN explicitly, this project remains an important part of the central government’s agenda.

The central government is committed to ensuring that the development of the IKN runs according to plan and remains under strict supervision. Collaboration between the central government, local governments, and other stakeholders is the main key to achieving the success of this project. In addition, Husni also highlighted the importance of the role of local communities in supporting this project. He hopes that the community can participate and provide positive input to improve the quality of IKN development, while also feeling the direct benefits of the various facilities that will be built there.

The development of the IKN is a real step to create economic equality in Indonesia. By leveling economic centers to the eastern region, the government wants to overcome the development gap that has occurred between Java and other regions. In addition, the IKN is designed as an environmentally friendly, modern, and sustainable capital city, so it is expected to be an example of a new civilization for Indonesia and the world.

The development of the IKN is the first step to create a more prosperous and just Indonesia. With support from various parties, both from the government, society, and the private sector, the IKN is expected to be a catalyst for Indonesia’s economic growth in the future. As a city designed with a modern and sustainable concept, the IKN will be the new face of Indonesia that shows progress and innovation.

Investment in the development of the IKN is not only about building tall buildings or magnificent infrastructure, but also about building the future for Indonesia. This project reflects Indonesia’s commitment to creating equitable development and making the IKN a symbol of national unity. With high optimism, Indonesia hopes that the IKN will bring positive, sustainable changes for all Indonesian people.
