President Prabowo Subianto reiterated his government’s commitment to eradicating drugs in Indonesia by asking all related elements, from the central to regional levels, to accelerate efforts to eradicate drugs and various other crimes that threaten the stability of the nation.
In an official statement, Head of the Presidential Palace Communications Office, Hasan Nasbi, emphasized that President Prabowo identified four main issues that require serious attention and real action.

This statement underlines the President’s strong commitment to confronting all forms of crime that have the potential to weaken the foundations of the state.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police, Commissioner General Wahyu Widada, also emphasized his institution’s support for the President’s priority agenda. Within the framework of the 7th Asta Cita, President Prabowo included drug eradication as an integral part of political, legal, and bureaucratic reform, with the aim of strengthening prevention and prosecution of various forms of crime, including corruption, gambling, smuggling, and especially drugs.
“Drug eradication is included in President Prabowo Subianto’s 7th Asta Cita, namely ‘strengthening political, legal and bureaucratic reforms and strengthening the prevention and eradication of corruption, drugs, gambling and smuggling,” said Commissioner General Wahyu Widada.

“National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has also given special attention to eradicating drugs from upstream to downstream,” added Wahyu Widada.
This step, according to him, includes dismantling drug syndicates, strict supervision in border areas, and strict law enforcement for perpetrators.
Support from civil society also came from Indonesia Narcotic Watch (INW), an organization that consistently supports the Police’s steps in eradicating drugs.
INW Executive Director, Budi Tanjung, expressed his appreciation for the hard work done by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police, Commissioner General of Police Wahyu Widada and his staff.
“The hard work of the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police, Commissioner General Pol. Wahyu Widada and his subordinates should be appreciated as proof of the National Police’s commitment to eradicating drug crimes to the roots,” said Budi.
