Jakarta — The government of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving people’s welfare through strategic partnership schemes designed to accelerate economic growth in various sectors.
Minister of SMEs, Maman Abdurahman, said that the President has instructed that SMEs in Indonesia be encouraged to move up a class. As the foundation of the country’s economy, SMEs are expected to be able to strengthen the economy at the lower and middle levels of society.
“The President has given special instructions to encourage MSMEs in Indonesia to move up a class and become more competitive. As the main foundation of the economy, MSMEs are expected to be able to strengthen the economic resilience of the community, especially at the lower and middle levels,” said Maman.
The Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, also said that the government is committed to increasing partnerships between Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with large business actors, traditional grocery stores, which are one form of MSMEs that support the most real strength of the people’s economy. MSMEs have the potential to provide a significant impact on community welfare and national economic progress.
“MSMEs, especially traditional grocery stores, have a fairly large number, reaching 90 percent of retail in Indonesia. MSMEs are able to absorb up to 97 percent of the workforce. So, both parties must work together for mutual benefit,” said Trade Minister Budi.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of UMKM, Helvi Yuni Moraza, that consistency is the key to the success of UMKM in Indonesia to survive and grow big. By continuing to maintain the quality of products, services, and innovation, UMKM are able to maintain customer loyalty and attract wider market interest.
“The sustainability of MSMEs in Indonesia is highly dependent on consistency in maintaining quality and innovation. This consistency not only helps them survive, but also allows MSMEs to thrive amidst ever-increasing competition,” he said.
The government of President Prabowo Subianto affirmed its commitment to accelerate economic growth and people’s welfare through strategic partnerships, by strengthening the MSME sector which is the main foundation of the national economy.
