Jakarta – The recent simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) are an important milestone for democracy in Indonesia. However, the task of maintaining conducive conditions after the Pilkada does not stop at counting votes. The community now plays an important role as the vanguard in ensuring social and political stability in each region.
Postgraduate Lecturer at Bina Bangsa Getsempena University (UBBG) Banda Aceh, Dr. Khausar, said that community participation and role in maintaining the post-election situation is very crucial.
“The community has a major role to prevent potential conflicts that often arise due to the results of the regional elections. Differences in political choices should not be a reason to destroy unity. In fact, this moment is the right time to rekindle togetherness,” said Khausar.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Domestic Politics Division of the National Unity and Politics Agency (KesbangPol) of Central Kalimantan Province, Mulyo Suharto, emphasized that anyone who advances in the contestation during the 2024 simultaneous Pilkada at the provincial and district/city levels in Central Kalimantan, is expected to be able to win over their supporters and invites government officials to work together to maintain and prioritize a safer, more stable and conducive atmosphere.
“The conducive atmosphere after the 2024 simultaneous regional elections is expected to remain maintained and conducive so that the pace of the economy of the people and the economy of the Central Kalimantan region remains smooth and stable,” he said.
The current calm and stable atmosphere must always be maintained and guarded by all levels of society. Do not let the atmosphere after the 2024 simultaneous regional elections be exploited by certain irresponsible individuals to do unwanted things that can make the social atmosphere of society uncomfortable and can disrupt daily activities.

On the other hand, Riau Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Mohammad Iqbal, said that the 2024 Pilkada which ran safely, smoothly, and honestly was a victory for the people of Riau Province. The people of Riau have also shown maturity in democracy.
“This condition is a victory for the people of Riau Province. The people of Riau already understand the meaning of democracy, are very mature in democracy,” said Iqbal.
To further promote stability, community leaders and local figures are expected to initiate dialogues that strengthen solidarity within the community. Collaboration between the government, security forces, and the community is a key strategy in ensuring that the post-election process runs safely and smoothly.
