Nickel Mining in Raja Ampat Provides Infrastructure Advancement and Supports the Community’s Economy

Raja Ampat – Responsibly managed nickel mining activities in the Raja Ampat region, West Papua, have had a positive impact on infrastructure development and improving the welfare of the surrounding community.

Ondoafi or Papuan Traditional Leader, Roliyanus Tapatkeding, said that the presence of nickel mining in Raja Ampat has provided infrastructure progress from road construction to bridges.

“I give my full support to the Central Government for bringing nickel infrastructure to Papua, specifically West Papua, by helping us with our damaged road and bridge infrastructure,” said Roliyanus.

Having good infrastructure can help the local community and increase employment opportunities.

“This could help bring in nickel to help repair damaged roads and bridges, and provide for the many abandoned children in Papua, especially in Raja Ampat. So, it could help us reduce unemployment in Raja Ampat,” he said.

Roliyanus provides support to the government in managing nickel mines because they can provide a positive impact on the community.

“With the entry of this nickel, the development of this nickel, we fully support the Central Government,” he continued.

With a participatory approach and social responsibility, the nickel mine in Raja Ampat is an example of how the industrial sector can work hand in hand with inclusive and sustainable regional development.

Roliyanus also expressed his appreciation to the government for its policies that support wise mining management.

According to him, the presence of the mine has brought real changes to daily life, from better infrastructure to wider job opportunities.

“Therefore, I really appreciate and fully support the Central Government’s efforts in developing nickel in Raja Ampat, West Papua,” Roliyanus concluded.
