CENTRAL PAPUA – The central and regional governments collaborated to promote Papua’s progress toward sustainable prosperity through open dialogue and concrete actions in Nabire, Central Papua, on Tuesday (August 12). The event involved traditional and religious leaders, community leaders, youth leaders, and representatives of organizations from all provinces in Papua, both in-person and online.

Present at the event were the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), General TNI (ret.) M. Herindra, Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi, Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Yandri Susanto, Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana, and Governor of Central Papua Meki Fritz Nawipa. The agenda included the provision of social assistance, free health services, and the groundbreaking of MBG kitchens in six locations: Jayapura, Nabire, Wamena, Merauke, Sorong, and Manokwari.

Meki Fritz Nawipa emphasized the benefits of MBG in improving people’s standard of living.

“We see MBG as having a significant multiplier effect, from increasing farmers’ incomes, empowering women as cooks, to improving children’s nutrition,” said Meki Nawipa.

Dadan Hindayana outlined the achievements of SPPG development in Papua.
“We hope that every village in Papua will have an SPPG that utilizes local raw materials and is managed by the local community, so that economic activity can occur within the region,” Dadan Hindayana emphasized.

Yandri Susanto emphasized equitable development in Papua.
“Developing villages in Papua is truly building Indonesia. The central government has never intended to neglect Papua,” Yandri Susanto concluded.

Budi Arie Setiadi urged the community to strengthen village cooperatives.
“Imagine every village in Papua having a strong cooperative that maximizes local potential and provides direct benefits to its residents,” added Budi Arie Setiadi.

The government’s presence in Nabire is a manifestation of its concern and a strategy to strengthen the economic and social foundations of Papua.
